Sensor dry timer problem

You need someone to come take unit apart and figure this out. Don't put yourself at risk.

lg's have a dry sensor that senses the wetness of the load they are not that reliable.. and will shut down the machine does it work on manual timer? meaning set it on high for 30 minutes.. it will probably run the 30 minutes... I have had this issue with my lg and so I just use the manual settings cheaper than having a 300$ service call. Its a problem with the dry sensor on the lining of the drum...

I'm pretty sure that is normal.

What I would do is check for air restrictions inside and out. Clean the dryer good and then check the thermister for proper tolerances using this service pamphlet

The moisture sensor is in the lint filter. Remove 4 screws from inside the drum and you have the sensor attached by 2 wires. On my dryer I disconnected then reconnected these 2 wires, reassembled the lint trap and auto dry works fine again.

It is a POS dryer, we have the same one. My suggestion get another dryer. We vacuumed it all out (don't you have a problem with the lint catcher?) Then it started loud pounding noise, which a lot of people seem to have the same problem, then our sensor went out and we had to dry the clothes 5-10 x's...now crack in stainless steel drum and is chewing up all our expensive clothes!

There is a little sensor that tells the dryer when to heat and when not to heat. that sensor is bad. If you take the back of the dryer off you will see it. It is about the size of a half dollar and has 2 wires that plug into it. While you have it apart make sure that the dryer vent on the back of the dryer is not plugged with lint. Major cause for fires in dryers.

I called LG...they said to unplug the dryer for 5 min. to reset the timer ...this solved the problem.
They also said not to use dryer sheets during the sensor dry cycle as the coating on the dryer sheets causes the sensor to malfunction as it can't read the humidity level in the dryer.

Had the same problem, dryer got hot but didn't stay hot. sounds like you have a bad sensor and it sounds like it's out of warranty.
