No audio on Sceptre TV

I have a Sceptre X46BV-1080P and all of a sudden the sound stopped working. I only use HDMI1 and HDMI2 ports. I've done power cycles and the first thing I checked was if the tv was on mute (it wasn't). I can see the bar on screen go up and down when I hit the volume buttons on the remote, but there is absolutely no sound. What should I do next?

I have a similar prollem. When TV is working fine, sometimes the sound CUTS OUT (GOES SILENT). Turns out, if I merely touch or wiggle the headphone jack, the sound returns. Try touching any of the input/output jacks. Must be a short or loose wire. If I'm using headphones I just skake the cable and it is fixed, til next time. I gotta do something about this prollum.

I think that you missed to check its speakers. Check it. If they are found OK, the audio output section circuit should be troubleshooted.

SOURCE: sceptre tv x46bv not turning on

What is happening is the internal "Fault" that is causing the Protection Circuitry , to detect the problem and attempt to shut down the set, keeps restarting the set, because as soon as it shuts down, the "Faulty" component(s) cool down?, and the "Fault" ostensibly "Clears" so the PSU starts up again, only for the component(s) to heat up, whatever, again and fail, so it shuts down, and if left unattended, this would continue on until the part eventually failed. As related this is called a "Hic-upping Power Supply". Any fault that involves the power supply is usually quite serious, and needs a professional, usually, unless one is familiar with servicing current day, televisions.
And in my professional recommendation, you should get a "Quote" for repair, from, an, Approved Service Center. Now, this point is very important for a good result, Always contact, their "Local" or a, "Head Office" Sceptre, in your case. Ask them, for a referral to an authorised servicing center, where you ask for a "Quote". Now, when you get the information you want, then you can decide as to repair of replacement.
The reason we want an approved agent, is that way, all the engineers are trained on their own brand sets, they have seen almost all faults, and will get the job done quicker, and for less cost, and usually have parts on hand, also sometimes, there has been a service bulletin in issued and the repair may be subsided or even free. There are many, many, many reasons that display this symptom, one must work through the troubleshooting steps to isolate and identify, the Cause and repair that and any damage done.

SOURCE: Volume control Sceptre X42BV LCD HDTV The

Hi,

To start the conversation, i would like you to ON the TV and take the remote to a different room. Then observe and see, if there is an issue with the volume. If not, then this is a case of faulty remote. I have seen few times when a faulty remote could send irregular signals and cause to volume to react in an unusual behavior. If the problem remains the same, then this is an internal failure and needs repair. You need to open the TV and check different components. In most cases, it is often faulty main board, however we cannot jump to any conclusion without testing the components. If the remote is not at fault, either you could call a tech or if you have prior experience of working on these sets, have electrical equipment and would be able to carry the repair, revert and i would be able to provide few more details and could possible provide you with a link to buy service manual which would be helpful.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Can't keep the HDMI2 setting for watching streaming channels - TV automatically reverts to HDMI1

That's because you have connected another device in HDMI1, the TV detects it as power on, and then change HDMI2 to HDMI1.

Try to power off the device in hdmi1, or you can even try to change HDMI2 to HDMI1 port ;)

Switching from HDMI2 watching computer back to HDMI1 to TV channels I have no picture coming on the TV. Why ?

Look if there is a FIRMWARE update for your model of TV and the SAORVIEW.

Many a times, the TV lock in with the frequency and will not release until the proper reset command arrives.

Try switching to a different resolution on the computer before you switch HDMI port

Is HDMI4 correct or HDMI1?

depends on what you plug into on back of tv
is it a dvd player with a hdmi cable ?
or is it a tv antenna cable ?
or is it AV cable ?
The input select on the tv menu must be the same as the port you plugged the cable into

DTV = Digital Tv
AV1 = Av input 1 the yellow plug type cable red and white audio plugs
HDMI1 = HDMI1 port
HDMI2 = HDMI2 port
HDMI3 = HDMI3 port
HDMI4 = HDMI4 port

component in looks very similar to av in so if using av cables
use av1 in port rather than component in .

Poor color quality on my sceptre my x46bv-1080p

I would try new cables or try a different connection. The best will be an HDMI, next would be RGB/component, the s video and finally composite

How do I connect a Toshisba soundbar?

Your sound bar should have some sort of HDMI IN and HDMI OUT. This means that there are at least one place to plug a HDMI cable into the bar from either your dish or bluray player and then you take another HDMI cable and plug it into the port labeled HDMI OUT and this will plug into your TV either in HDMI1, HDMI2, or HDMI3 and then it will provide sound for the device. Unfortunately you didn't not list the item so I can not look it up to see if it can accept multiple devices so if it only has two HDMI ports then it can only support one device and you will have to manually change out devices through the HDMI IN port. Essentially the soundbar is just a pass though and takes the sound and sends the picture to the tv.

My tv has no sound.

Check the sound settings. If Mute is On, there will be no sound from the set. If the settings are OK, check the speaker first. If it too found OK, check its audio out terminals for any audio out from it. Connect these audio out terminals [at the back of the TV] with any external audio amplifier or so, and see whether you can get sound out of it. If the answer is 'yes; the audio output card to your TV is faulty and must be replaced. If 'no' the main digital board [audio processing section] is faulty and must be replaced.
