Hi My Panasonic TZ8 is showing no charge on the display just the 5m warning, I have bought a new battery and a new charger thinking they are at fault. After charging the problem is still there, the camera switches on and operates for a short time. Do you have any ideas/advice? Thanks Pete

I think this is a general Fuji design fault in the camera circuitry. I have an older F455 which has exactly the same problem and I did the same - bought new batteries only to discover that didn't help. The only solution is to spend even more money for a stand alone battery charger.

I had the same problem!! Try flipping the battery around and then charging it. It worked for me! Hope this helps!

I looked up this question with the same problem and while the battery was placed in with the right side in, the three metal tabs weren't on the right side with the three metal chargers- so I had to spin it around the other way...i hope i'm explaining this right...now it's charging! I am so glad. This camera is excellent.

I had this problem a few weeks ago (i.e. flashing red LED). All I did was remove the power plug from the charging unit, turned it around 180 degrees, then plugged it back into the charging unit. Red LED came on steady & the battery (which is the one that came with the camera) recharged as normal.

Same thing happened to me when I used alkaline batteries. Have you tried fully charged NiMH? If not you may have a "leak". Your next option is the service center.
