After connecting the usb to my flatscreen tv,, how do I wath my video recordings onto my tv?

The problem sounds to be with the USB port is partially damaged and not making connection fully with the board. There are about 4-8 connections on the USB connection and I believe only 2 need to be connected to charge the phone, but all need to be connected to communicate with the computer. I suggest you first try a different USB cable and then look for a local repair center.

Just a note:

HTC Sync cannot be used for file transfers of music and videos.

To do that, you need to remove your phone's memory card - insert it in a PC - download the Music/Videos to the PC - then transfer them to the memory card.

Your TV needs to have an HDMI or USB plug to be able to do this. Most TV's made since 2008 have an HDMI slot. I'll attach images of both an HDMI and USB plug to show what they look like. Plug the HDMI or USB plug into the slot in the TV and the mini plug into the docking station, then dock your phone. You will need to change the input on your TV to display your phone on the TV.
