Hp psc 1215 wont scan with vista

Introduction Some products do not have full scan functionality in Windows Vista. This is because full-featured Vista drivers are not available for all products, especially older products. 1. Raise the top cover of the product.
2. Place your original print-side down on the glass.
   NOTE: The engraved diagram next to the scanner glass shows exactly where to place the document (usually on the right-front corner or the left-front corner).
3. Close the scanner lid.

4. Click File , and then click Import from Camera or Scanner .
5. Click Import .

You must visit the HP website to download the newest PSC 1215 printer/scanner drivers for Vista.

Under Vista Basic, HP has not been willing to give me the appropriate driver to scan. But the appropriate driver driver does exist because under Vista Enterprise, my 1210 scans prfectly fine with the drivers coming with Enterprise. I think HP just wants to stiff us for a new scanner, and MS to upgrade to Enterprise,

What happens if it's a USB connection and not a parallel port? Can't get any further with the installation :-(

It works! I had the same problem with vista and hp psc 1215...but this is a great solution!!!!!!!
