Varies slightly as u didnt give model, i run front wheels onto car ramps and block rear wheels, then in middle of blade is a large bolt hold blade with leather glove and unscrew, put new one on and tighten,

This is most likely a belt problem. Check the deck drive belt that runs from the mower deck to the engine it/s come loose and got stuck between the guides.

Hi, first check the oil. If it smells like fuel, change the oil. Secondly if oil smells ok, check the valve clearances and adjust if incorrect. Let me know if the oil smells like fuel and I will help with a fix to stop it happening again. Regards Phil.

I have a husqvarna 172 ride-on lawnmower. Running

This unit probably has a safety switch built into it and it could be below the gas tank. If this switch isn't adjusted properly then it's designed to cut off the motor. I think you should concentrate on that before attempting anything else.
