On my 20" APEX AT2008S the on screen menu keeps coming on, and then cycling through the 4 choices, then disappearing. It is like the menu button is being pushed every now and again randomly. the tv had been unplugged for a long time, but I doubt that is the cause.

This TV does not have a digital tuner and since the digital transition now requires a digital converter box to receive over the air television. The name may have made this a little confusing seeing how the manufacturer's name is "Apex Digital". I hope this helped.
That is the OSD (On Screen Display) system built-in to your computer monitor. Check that when you hit the ON/OFF button on your monitor, that you do *NOT* hit the 'OSD ON/OFF' button.
Most of the time, the OSD will disappear after 10 seconds of "non-use".
Please try to Turn the monitor off. Hold down the Menu button while the monitor is turned off, then press the Power button again to turn the monitor back on. This should unlock your OSD menu and remove that message from your screen. best regards
I had precisely the same problem... I depressed the Menu Button for about twelve seconds or more and the menu actually finally popped up; and does so now every time I depress Menu! Hope this works for you.
Is the M for Mute, is there sound? The CC has many different stages, if you are on text it would show a black square, and you have CC 1-4. You should be on CC1. Check this first.
This is due to electromagnetic field affected in the corner area. Check whether there is any magnetic components in surrounding area if found keep away from TV. And then switch off the TV and remove the mains plug also. Switch on the TV after 30mins. The colour will disappear. Even you got the same problem call technical person. Because the decaussing section is not worked.
