Sony kv-40xbr800 blinks two times

there are two large electrolytic caps on the D board located on the same side as the hv xformer.
both caps are 1200ufd at 250v, replace C6503, it is futher away from the side of the pcb.
this is the part of the ac rectifier that feed IC6501 chip MZ3001D
cap size is 1 1/8" diameter and about 2" inches high.
my problem with 6 or 7 blinks, would go away temporarily after the tv was unplugged for 24 hours.
i verified the fix by attaching a 250ufd at 250v cap in parallel with the C6503.
the problem was corrected.
you must assume the cap is leaking, which leads to the intermittent failure.
parts and shipping are a killer, so i turned to ebay.
search ebay for "Electrolytic Capacitors, 1200 uF, 250 Volt, Snap in 2X".
as the only bidder, i picked up two caps for $3.99 + $3.50 s&h.
might be wise to replace both caps, C6503 and C6590.

there is a problem on the power supply section of your tv.try to check the regulators horizontal output,and bad capacitors.

Exact same problem. KV-40XBR800 wont turn on, blinks six times. I am in the process of changing both Ic's part# MCZ3001D with part# MCZ3001DB. Ordered them frm ebay and waiting for the new parts to arrive.
here are the pictures of both chips and after i removed them from the d board.
As soon as i receive the new ones i will put them in. I can't wait to see what happens and i wanted to say thanks to all of you out there for putting this thing up. Thank you very much.
