if by turn off do you mean make the fan stop running ? if so sometime in the past few years someone decided to make machines like this run the fan all the time , but they do cycle the compressor motor to regulate the rooms humidity level
First, tunr the unit OFF and unplug it for 10 minutes. Then plug it back in and turn it ON. It will automatically set at 70%. Press the - button and lower the humidity extraction level to 45% in increments of 5%. Once you reach 35% press and the - button one more time. Now the unit is set to run continuously, until the bucket is full and the unit turns OFF automatically or you manually turn the unit OFF. In case you have misplaced the Owner's Manual, I have included a link to it, that you can download and print. http://aic.lgservice.com/gcsc/dwn/main
I hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa..
In the trouble shooting section of the manual they do list err 24 and tell you to call the service center. They will arrange a service tech to come and deal with it. Or tell you to take it back to the store.
Just so I have the data point. Do you have it hooked up to a hose or are you using the built in bucket?
The
tank may be full. Your dehumidifier has a safety device that turns off
the dehumidifier when the water tank is full. Usually the tank itself
either presses against a switch or there's a device connected to the
tank that triggers a switch when the tank is in place and full.
If
you've emptied the tank and the unit doesn't run, inspect the place
where the tank rests to see if there's a switch or mechanism that's not
being activated. You may be able to turn it on with a simple flick of
your finger.
Store bought products like these are extremely hard to get parts. Your best bet is to contact the manufacturer, but don't expect much assistance from them.
