SOURCE: I have a proform xp 580. when I turn it on,

Press the Stop and the Speed Up keys down while inserting the safety key.
Press the Stop key one time. The Time window should read EP:2P. Some newer models may also say FP, Pass, or the like. This means that it passes the EPROM test.
Press either incline key and the incline will calibrate automatically.
After completing calibration of incline, press the Stop key and then remove the safety key.

Proform xp 580 trips the breaker as soon as you turn it on

Treadmills have up to a 15 amp power draw. They are like space heaters, Proform often recommends having a dedicated 15-20 amp circuit for a treadmill. Ellipticals have less power draw.
I repair most Icon products, is this a new problem with an old treadmill? If it is a new treadmill, call the number in the front of the manual, if they can't fix it over the phone, there is a good warranty on it. At least for a little while. ;-)

Pro form 580 SI, power incline runs up as soon as it is plugged in and wont go down using console buttons.

possible it could be in incline senser but most likely the console needs replacing. you should always use a power surge protecter on a treadmill. power surges can blow out 1 resister on those circuit boards and there no good.
