Blinking AC light with/without battery, computer shuts down

If AC adapter is connected and the system gets shutdown automatically it is for sure that this problem is not for battery. You can try going to properties of My computer - Advance system setting - startup and recovery settings - automatically restart

CHECK THE FANS! The biggest enemy to your laptop is HEAT! You just replaced the display it's very possible you inadvertently disconnected the cooling fan. Clean it while you have it apart dirt and dust prevent proper cooling

Your Gateway laptop comes with a series of LED lights that alert you to the state of your computer. You'll notice there are blue, purple and red lights that either blink or display solidly. Each light, blinking or solid, has a different meaning. The blue blinking light on your laptop indicates that it is in Standby mode. Your laptop goes into Standby when you close its lid without shutting down the computer. To turn this light off, you'll need to take the computer out of Standby mode, and if you want to ensure that the blinking blue light does not return, shut down the computer after each use.

Open the lid of your Gateway laptop and press the power button. Once Windows loads, enter your password if required. The blue light will no longer be blinking because the computer is no longer in Standby mode. Shut the laptop off when you finish using it rather than simply closing the lid to stop the blue light from blinking again. Click "Start" from your Windows desktop and click "Shut down." Change your computer's power settings to keep if from going into Standby mode when you close the lid if you'd rather not shut down your computer every time you use it. Click "Start" and click "Control Panel." Click "System and Security" and then click "Power Options." Click "Choose what closing the lid does" from the list of options on the left side of the window. Select "Hibernate" from the drop-down lists under "On Battery" and "Plugged In." Click "Save Changes." Your laptop will now bypass Standby mode when you close the lid and it will enter Hibernate mode instead. Hope it helps.

If it is orange or is blinking orange, the battery charge is low or expended. Remove the battery and re-install it. Plug in the AC adapter and connect it to an outlet. Turn on the computer.

When the battery status light blinks green and orange, the battery temperature is too hot for charging. Shut down the laptop, detach the AC adapter, and allow the laptop and battery to return to room temperature before attempting to charge the battery.

If the battery status light blinks orange rapidly, the battery itself may be defective.

Looks like your power adapter for your laptop is short-circuited. Replaced it with a new adapter.

It is the battery. It is damaged, and because of that it changes the voltage of the AC. the best solution is to replace it with a new one, but until then, work without it, or you might have fried lap top

"Shuts down instantly without warning" is the hallmark of a faulty battery. "All five lights on" is meaningless, as batteries with this fault go from 100% to 0% in a finger-snap. Assuming your battery is under warranty, it should be replaced at no charge.

Sounds like your ac adapter (brick) is bad and not supplying correct voltage/amperage.

Most laptop batteries would die out after a year or two. None the less, the laptop should work with or without the batteries.

In some instances, the batteries have deteriorated to the point that it will gobble up the power from the charger denying sufficient juice for the laptop's use. The temporary workaround is to use the laptop without the batteries. if removing the battery and the unit powers up/works, then you have verified that indeed it is the battery causing you problems.

If even without the battery the unit will not operated, you can suspect the charger not 100% compatible with your laptop. If it is an original charger, then you can conclude that something is wrong inside the Toshiba.

I understand that the original charger intended for a Toshiba P25-S670 is 19VoltsDC. 6.3Amperes (120Watts).
