Control panel indicator lights froze - no washer action. Inspected for loose connections and continuity on most switches and components. Found what appears to be burned copper strands in ribbon connector (control board to control panel) at the point where connector meets the panel. Replaced the control panel - all worked fine for three days then it stopped working. No burned connector strands evident. The panel lights still illumniate on cycle options but right side options don't work. It mysteriously started twice and completed wash, but panel went dead again. The dishwasher is only 2 years, 5 months old. Any advice will be appreciated.

Hey, just had the same problem with my 9150. Moisture got into the electronic key pad. $300 to replace it. I was 5 months out of warranty.
I called 800-688-9900 and Maytag agreed to cover the part and we have to cover the labor. Not completely satisfied but a little bit helps.

You probably have a bad main control or console control unit in there. Turn power off to the machine, be sure that BOTH of your door switches are ok. Unplug your membrane to control panel ribbon cable, then put everything back in place. Leave the door open, then turn power back on to machine. (also, be sure the thermal fuse hasnt tripped while your in the console). After re-appling power, close the door, and wait a few, if the console unit is bad, the machine will go into drain mode (you will here the unit start in drain). If no drain mode, then your control is shorted. You dont have to see any burn marks, etc for one to be bad, in fact, 98% of the boards we replace, dont show any signs of problems. Let me know what you find out.

Change the circuit board, timer/progrsmer.
Take it out and clean contacts,
Look for burnt circuit line and solder a fine bead carefully on the circuit board, difficult. Use the pot and pan program.

A water softner will not make the dishes any cleaner, it just makes it so they don't have water spots on them.
If the dishes are dirty, it is most likely that the nozzles (holes) in arms may be plugged.
Also check to make sure you are getting plenty of water to dishwasher. Make sure all water valves are full turned open.
If the control panel does not work all the time, it is very likely you have either a shorted wire, or a fualty main board which is very common in newer machines.

If there are no lights on the control panel then initially check if connections to the panel are fine.If they look fine then you definitely need a new control panel.
No need for a new touch panel. Its always that the control panel goes faulty, not the touch panel.
you can also check for competitive rates from local dealers and few sites like--repairclinic.com and applianceparts.com
thanks.

Same dishwasher, same exact problem. I was going to replace the control panel but now I will hold off. BTW, my wife's name is Cassano, lol!
I have a Maytag dishwasher at my tennant's apartment, and it has been doing the same thing. It will work intermittently, but other times the control panel won't respond. They say it will work other times, though. It was only installed 5 months ago (However it was purchased and sitting in a box for a few months, so the warranty is finished. An identical unit at my own house hasn't had any problems.
