Your problem is in your DSP circuit. This what makes your different soround sound options.

Coil L921 which is located on the DSP board may have opened due to in rush current.

Check coil L921, if open, replace it with a new and improved coil.
The Onkyo part# is 231237M022R2.

Why did choke L921 burn out and what is the rated current it should be?
In the service manual on the circuit page 20, the inductance 22uH of them. And on page 6 is the recommendation to replace 2.2uH and where is it correct?

Can someone help. Repaired receiver ONKYO TX-SR602E (not working since 2008). Choke L921 Turned out to be in a cliff, so there was no 2.5V and 3.3V. These voltages go to the DSP, the memory and therefore the signal did not pass. I measured the current of the supply voltage of 5V to 2.5V and 3.3V - 340mA. Put the choke NL453232T-2R2J-PF (size 1812) from TDK to 380mA. It turned out to be more than the original recommended, but managed to get on the board. This fault is described in the service manual 7 page.

The only remote that will definitely turn the sat subtitles on/off is the sat remote. The other subtitle buttons on the other remotes refer to the DVD subtitles and the subtitles generated by the tuner in the tv. The subtitle option is greyed out on the tv because you are not on the tv tuner.

SOURCE: new home theater setup- no signal at tv using onkyo tx=sr605

This might somewhat help. Today I went back .. I went HDMI out of the Cable box and DVD player into 2 of the TVs HDMI ins. The digital audio out from each, straight to the receiver and things are working ok. All speakers are working OK. Sound isnt as loud or crisp but unfortunately I found no other solution.

I had the same problem with my xbox 360. I was able to fix the problem by disabling the Display Discovery setting on the xbox.

Goof information. Have you eliminated or proven the Onkyo as a cause by going direct to the projector? Try another Input and/or Output. It's best to know which component is broken and if it's limited to a specific subset of its function.

Settings are also indicated. Run through the video setup again. If it just stopped, what preceded it?

There is no sound coming no matter what source

Have you checked the speaker select switch on the front of the receiver? "A" "B" or "A +B" or "Off". Sounds simple, but it happens! If you still have an issue post a comment and I can help you troubleshoot some more.

Onkyo TX-SR502 AV receiver

this could be the pre amp transistor or the power amp that needs replacing
the pre amp transistor is cheap but the power amp is not
if you did not crank it , then it is probably just the transistor that needs replacing

Installed surround sound, no picture on tv

I could not get my TV to recognize an S-video signal from my reciever either. I ended up just bypassing the reciever and running the video straight from the cable box to the TV. It might be a better option anyways as some quality is lost if you run it through the reciever.
