It beeped the other night indicating that it was going into shut down mode or the battery was low. Today when I went to turn it on there was no power at all. I plugged it into the charger but even the charging light doesn't come on. It doesn't even work with the AC adapter. Any ideas what the problem may be?

This incident happens often and damages the camcorder's power board. Replacing power board and some adjustment should resolved the problem. Your cost may run from $175-$225 in US for this model. Whenever you are transfering and connecting to pc, it is recommended to connect AC adapter power for this. Do not rely on a charged battery. Good luck.

From what ive been told, you might have a blown fuse. Unfortunately it is just any regular fuse its a micro fuse. It is at the edge of the motherboard with the etching H or K there are 4 of them. You can test to see if there is conductivity, if not than it could be the fuse, you can replace it or try to solder over the fuse...that would be dangerous but your camcorder will work until excess current fries it. IF not it could be a loose circuit.

There are 2 or 3 very small fuses on the main circuit board. These are commonly termed "Surface Mount" They are approximately 1- 1 and a 1/2mm long and only half the width. They are white on the face with a letter on them. These are fuses of which you can if you are very careful and with a fine tipped solder iron, replace.
To determine the faulty one, use a simple multi-meter and test for continuity across the fuses in turn. The fuse with an open circuit is faulty ie...does not read on the meter.
If you are silly enough to use a piece of fine wire to bridge the faulty fuse...then be it on your own hands...but remember, THE FUSE BLEW BECAUSE OF A FAULT and the wrong rated replacement could cause further failure if it is not able to "BLOW"

You may need to reseat the connectors inside the camcorder.Close the LCD. Hold the LCD side in the palm of your non-dominant hand. Give the opposite side a good cupped-hand whack (do NOT whack the LCD! The opposite side!). Be careful.
