Can't access to wi-fi when i press the button it doesn't appear to do any thing i am using xp sp2 please can any one solve my problem
Maybe you don't have your wireless turned on. Look onboth sides and in front for the Wireless Switch and turn it on.
Also once the wireless switch is turned on there are keystrokes that can togglethe wireless on or off. Normally you would Press and Hold the FN functionkey located at the lower left of the keyboard, then hit the correct F1 thru F12key that toggles the wireless. The correct F1 thru F12 key to hit willhave the wireless signal icon )))) on it. Or it might have the icon of a towerwith the wireless signal icon )))). Normally the screen will displayWireless On or Wireless Off when you toggle the wireless.

Since you changed your motherboard, your wireless adapter built-in with the motherboard have changed also. Please make sure that your wireless network adapter is properly installed so that you can connect through wifi.

Deinstall SP3. Nothing works with it.
If you can't deinstall it, you'll have to reinstall Windows, I'm sorry.
I hope this helps,

SOURCE: where do I find the button to start the Wi-fi ?
As far as I know - the wireless button is on the left of the power button (the middle one)
If I remember corectly, the button should have three "modes" tap once - bluetooth, tap twice - wifi, tap three times - both.
But that could be just my memory acting up and there could be only one mode (on/off) in which case - check if the wireless is enabled in the system settings and/or BIOS.

Hi,
FN+F2 is given to disable and enable the wi-fi means once you will press it the wifi will turn on and in second attempt it will turn off.
Check in device manager whether it is showing any wireless ethernet controllerand if not then install.
Thanks.
If you're using your HTC Wildfire for the first time, you can easily select the Wi-Fi network you'd like to join using the setup manager.
When you opt in for either Mobile Network or Wi-Fi, or just Wi-Fi, the Wildfire will by default try to connect to a Wi-Fi network near you.
Select the network you wish to connect to, enter the password if required and you're set up.
If you want to change the settings, or set it up for the first time, you can do this through the Settings menu.
Note: If you're attempting to access a network-based page or app, you may be required to set up a new Wi-Fi connection. When prompted, select the option to set up a new connection.
If Wi-Fi is turned off, you can now turn this on by ticking the box in the Wireless & networks menu.
