We've fitted the belt to the pulleys and the drum but the belt is still slack.

Hi.
On some models it is possible to fit the belt on the tensioning pulley or pulleys , the wrong way.
Assuming you have the correct belt, then I suggest you try the belt on the pulley a different way.
Hope this helps.

There should be some kind of tensioner around the motor or one of the pully's. The other problem could be that the belt you bought is the wrong one for your model. If you still have the old belt, measure the new belt against the old one and the new belt should be slightly smaller. I hope this info helps.

How to replace belt on Creda T620 CW Tumble Dryer

Remove the back panel quite a few screws, once of the belt can be seen, mind your fingers (use hook on metal coat hanger or the like) and roll the drum slowly with the hook under the belt directing it off the drum, refit is much the same as removal although special care should be taken not to nip the belt, fit to small pulley first on motor then turn drum slowly gradually rolling onto the drum mind the fingers and obviously make sure machine is off.

How to fit belt on Creda Reversair 37643 Tumble dryer

New belt is very tight, so you have to use more strength. Put it on motor and all other on "drum". Spin it easily and slowly but with strength until its done.

Be carefully, use gloves.

I'm trying to replace the belt on a Hotpoint VTD00P tumble dryer. I've successfully removed the sides and front, fitted the replacement belt around the drum but just can't get it to stretch enough to fit...

There is a tool available, but it is not worth the expense of buying it for a one off repair.
Best way to do it is to geta long piece of steel rod, or a long screwdriver, and place it behind the belt, lever the belt down and over the motor pulley, it is difficult, so persist with it and you should get the belt on.
If you can slacken the front securing screw holding the motor, down this will give you a bit more leeway to fit the belt.
Again it is difficult, but I have done it this way on every occasion I have fitted a new belt.

Simpson Maxidry Tumble dryer (Cloths dryer) How

Hi there, There is a switch at the bottom of the dryer. It has a groove for the spring to fit around. Then the spring goes through the metal tag with the holes in the pulley. The pulleys 2 prongs then fits into the slot near the motor. The belt goes through the pulley and around the motor wheel. When fitting the drum, tape the belt at three points on the drum with the machine door facing down making installation easier. Once installed remove the tape. The dryer now works like a dream. See the attached photo. Good Luck!8e72e75.jpg
