Give this batteri an electrical choc from 12 volt car batteri for few seconds have the protection in place

You should be able to use the sync cable you charge it with along with a cigarette adapter that has usb ports on it. I hope that helps.

Try to install newest firmware from this page:

? Verify that the USB cable is securely inserted into the USB port on both the Rio Carbon and your computer. ? Connect the USB cable to a USB port on the back of your computer rather than to a USB port on the front of your computer. ? If using a USB hub, connect to a powered USB hub. Unpowered USB hubs may not work. ? Remove USB extension cables from the connection path. ? Disconnect other USB devices. ? Both Windows XP Service Pack 1 (SP1) (or greater) and Windows Media Player 10 (WMP10) must be installed for your computer to detect a Rio Carbon set in MTP mode. ? If you do not want to install SP1 (or greater) and WMP10 on your computer you should disconnect the Rio Carbon and change the Transfer Mode setting to MSC mode. Good Luck

Although not officially available (or supported by DNNA) for the Riot, it happens to function with the Riot as well as newer players. Potentially later updates to RMM might break support with the older players.

I read about this place - Immergut Battery Haus Inc. 540 West Main Street New Holland, PA 17557 (717)355-5288 someone got a battery for a rio riot from them for just 20 $. But taking the battery out wasn't so simple, you should call them to consult. Good luck
