Hi all, I'm printing from my Brother MFC-6490CW and the print job freezes at the fourth page. I tried deleting the print job through My Computer and through the server it is connected to, and I ran a delete print jobs command. This deleted the print job successfully, and I restarted my computer. The print job restarted unprompted when the machine booted, and froze again on the fourth page. Any ideas as to what may be happening? Thanks, -Mike

firest you swithc off all the printers and wait for some minute then clear all printers queue by going in to printer folder then restart your system.

You could try to use static ip to remove possible problems with dns retrieving:
Also, if it works, you can change the network settings for scanner driver to go to ip address too instead of dns, even if it isn't a problem right now, it could later be.

Usually that error means the encoder strip behind the carriage assembly is out of position or very dirty. Best to remove the top cover to correct, you might also find a scrap of paper either on the extreme right or left stopping the carriage from moving properly.

if you have done a couple cleanings and it has not helped, its one of 2 things, either your ink cartridge is empty and needs to be replaced, or the nozzles are clogged on the printhead, also air can be in the turbing causing it not to let the liquid flow.
thanks adi
