My Panasonic PT-50LC14 tv turns on for about two minutes and then shuts off. Then the red lamp light blinks once every 5 seconds. The lamp was replaced about two weeks ago and worked fine till now. also just found that the fan continues to run and the red power light continues to blink. what could the problem be?
Good day!!!!
That problem is usually cause of faulty capacitors on the power supply board..
Just follow this instruction to fix your TV..
1. Open the back cover of your TV.
2. Look at the power supply board..Its normally connected to the power cord..
3.
After that,,try to look at the actual image of capacitors if it is
bulged on the top so that you can easily determine the bad capacitors..
4.
After that,,try to replaced the bad capacitors using soldering iron and
soldering lead..replaced the capacitors only with the same type ratings
and value..
5. Some of the capacitors not bulged so its better if have a capacitance meter
Testimonial: "information was helpful but turns out it may be a cracked bulb, I'll know for sure when it comes in."

I have the same TV and just replaced the same lampTY-LA1000.
You have to reset the clock that times the lamp.Hold down the volume button(first you turn on the TV) while holding down the PiP button or the swap Button on the remote. that fixed mine.

Is it a bad bulb, balast or any ideas where to look next
Even thought the new bulb was two weeks old I took the housing apart and found a cracked bulb, A new one is on order, hope that solves the problem.
