I think I need to replace the fuze for the adjustable drivers seat. It worked one day and then I tried to readjust it again and it didn't work. The fuze box says it is #40/30 amp but I can't figure out where the numbers start to find #40. Can someone help me please?
Fuse box should look like the one shown on these pages:

The longer single row of fuses is #31-46 (46 is closest to the double row of fuses).
Hope this helps!

I don't know what year you own but on the 1999 BMW 328i it is inside the glove box. up on top, there are two white tabs that must be turned and the top will flip down reveiling the fuses.

I have 1998 BMW 328i and it shut off entire air condition system while running. sometime it works fine then suddenly it shut off while driving.

Take the seat out and turn it over, to see if the gears are stripped, or if something simply became unattached.
It is needs expensive parts, consider a junk yard, or if really desperate, steal them from the passenger seat. Worst case, just lock it into one position that is best for you.

I have the same problem. Seat and steering column just stopped working. Passenger side normal. No fuse for these components. With so many postings witht he same problem there has to be a defective or worn out source. Please post if you find a solution!
