SOURCE: Trying to fix a 20+ yr.old treadmill (Precor USA

Dear Sir:

I hope you are very well, in union with your family.

Thank you by your request, and I will help you inmediately.

Please follow the next step with very carefully:

    • 1
Makesure that the surge protector being used is properly grounded(Very Important) and turned on.Check that the treadmill power cord is properly plugged into the surgeprotector.
    • 2
Checkto see that the key is inserted in the console.
    • 3
Checkthe circuit breaker on the frame near the power cord. If the reset/off circuitbreaker has tripped, wait 5 minutes and then reset the breaker by pressing theswitch in.
4)Check the circuit braker panel house, and reset.
Static Shock Problems:

Many people face a conundrum when using a treadmill. The problem is that a treadmill has you walk or run in a motion that causes you to build up an electrical charge on your body while you are exercising.
The problem if you are swinging your arms, you are totally isolated from any common ground so the charge just builds and builds and many discharges have been measured above 30,000 volts.

You may say, how in a frost-covered hell can I build up 30,000 volts on my body without killing myself? Good question and it has a good
answer...there is very little amperage. It will pop you good when you do ground and sting but it won't hurt you.
The problem is that it can damage the treadmill's electronics if it is not properly designed and we still see poor designs in this respect

If you don't like getting popped or if your treadmill is shutting down or going crazy, there is a fix. You can ground yourself to keep the electricity from building up on your body.

We now have wrist grounding straps that can be reused and attach to the frame of the treadmill without causing any markings and do not require any permanent modification to your treadmill. You can find them in any online catalog by electronic sales by searching for Grounding Strap.

Thank in advance, sincerely. God bless you.

SOURCE: Precor 9.25i treadmill will not turn on at on/off switch. It throws a spark then immediatly turns off

Der Sir;
The power switch is failure , you must Change the switch. You must be shure the some wires is Not loose, otherwise the wires will be touching the carcase causing the spark inside. Retight the wires or solder .You must inspect the main motor board and all the element around . If someone is burned or other wires is touching the carcasing producing the spaprk.
sincerely. God bless you.

Precor 9.45 reset safety switch message wont go away

If you have checked the safety switch on your Precor 9.45 treadmill and everything seems to be intact, and the "reset safety switch" message still won't go away, it's possible that the switch itself is faulty or the console is not receiving the signal from the switch.
You can try cleaning the switch and the area around it, and also check the wires that connect the switch to the console to make sure they are not damaged. If the switch or wires appear to be damaged, they may need to be replaced.
If cleaning and checking the switch and wires doesn't resolve the issue, it's recommended that you contact the manufacturer or a qualified repair technician to further diagnose and fix the problem. They may be able to provide additional troubleshooting steps or suggest other possible solutions.

Stuck key on machine wont start

Precor Error 05, Key Depressed at Power Up
Probable Cause 1. A key is permanently depressed on the display.
2. An interface chip (IC) has failed in the upper PCA's keypad.
3. Liquid (cleaning solution or sweat) may be on the surface of a touch sensitive display.

Corrective Action
  1. Disconnect the keypad cable from the upper PCA. Reset power to the machine. If the Error 05 is eliminated, the keypad is the cause and should be replaced.
  2. Disconnect the keypad cable from the upper PCA. Reset power to the machine. If the Error 05 still appears, the upper PCA* is the cause and should be replaced. *Upper PCA's most commonly do not come with software. Remove the software (chip) from the existing upper PCA prior to replacement and install into the new upper PCA.
  3. Wipe away all liquid from the touch sensitive display. Reset power to the unit. If the Error 05 is eliminated, the liquid was the cause.

The power switch on Precor treads is also a circuit breaker. If it trips when plugged in, you have a dead short in the machine.

My 933i is tripping my house circuit breaker at higher speeds. I think there is more resistance in the belt (It's never been serviced).

When a running belt has excessive wear, it creates a lot of friction which causes the drive motor to work harder. When the drive motor works harder it will start overheating. If the belt is not lubricated periodically, it will ruin the deck, the drive motor, and cause other electrical problems such as tripping the breaker [after a while, the circuit breaker on the treadmill will need to be replaced.

It is suggested to lubricate the belt monthly. At this point, you may need to replace both your deck and your running belt.

Haven't used my ProForm 585s in a couple of months, now when I insert the key, no lights or anything. We've hit the reset button and checked outlets and such. Suggestions?

Hello,

Your on the right track. If power is coming from the wall, it goes through the circut breaker ( red switch next to the power cord entrance), then it goes to the motor controller, the up to the console switch at the magnet/kill switch. To verify that you are getting power past the circut breaker, remove the motor hood. You can now see the motor controller on the left ( opposite the motor), it will have a red light on when it has power. If you dont see that light check the circut breaker.
