I think it's the av channel but not sure

Had a power failure last night, and now the picture reception is distorted when I attempt to play DVD's or VCRs. Before the powr failure my av adaptor was set to channel 4. Everything worked fine. Now it won't work at all. HOWEVER, when I switched the converter to channel three, I was able to play tapes, and DVD's but the picture is distored like when you have a bad cable connection (line through middle of screen and distortion of picture.) Sound works and all mechanical parts are working, and remote settings for turning on and off are working but the picture is distorted. Also, no longer get the "Blue Screen" you see before you put a tape or disk in. Can't figure out how to get the device channel setting back. phone tech said it's the rca cables that are fried, but I don't know?

SOURCE: my tv remote stopped working

Try using words to form sentences next time.
Don't lose the remote; tie a scarf on it with a key-finder in it and a pesto or frosting saran pack in the battery compartment if you have to.  You do.
Because now, you get to go buy a universal remote and program it, or use a universal remote program on a PalmPilot, cellphone, or IrDA-equipped PC.

Alternately, you could take advantage of any automatic input priorities the TV set has which are compatible with your game cabling.

SOURCE: VCR eating tapes when attempting to rewind

VCRs are so cheaply priced these days that it's not worth the time and trouble to fix them or have them repaired. If you fix one worn or slipping belt, another problem isn't far behind.

I AM ON CABLE. MY JVC AV-36150 PICTURE IN FINE ON

You`re probably getting a on air channel which means that you have to check your cable connectors and splitter if you got any, switch with other sets if you can.

Picture shows snow and fuzz on channels JVC AV-32980

Sounds like U have an antenna or feeder problem. Get it checked out/ check it out. If in a strong signal area, try a simple indoor antenna for comparison. If in a marginal reception area, it could be your antenna is inadequate.
