Can transfer FROM but not TO...

Like many things, this used to work fine, but now on one of my computers I can open Windows Explorer and view the files on the device, and I can delete files, transfer them to computer, etc., but I cannot transfer files from computer to device! I get an error message saying the device has been disconnected, although it has not, and I can still navigate the folders and files through explorer. Evidently, this is a problem with this particular WinXP computer, not the device (since this all works fine on my other WinXP computer). Any clues?

Transferring photo from computer to memory stick

Many cameras will not let you write to the card. Try using a card reader, which will make the memory card appear to the computer as a separate hard drive.

Transferring pictures

Once the camera is attached to the computer via USB cable, windows explorer treats the camera card just like another hard drive. the same goes if the camera card is inserted into a card reader.

Because of this, the camera can be seen as a listed hard drive, (C:), (D:), (E:)..... With windows explorer open view "Computer", listing all existing drives, plug your usb cable into the computer and the camera. When you turn on your camera, AutoPlay begins. Choices range from import pictures to viewing pictures with whatever programs are loaded into you computer.

If not AutoPlay then just use Windows Explorer. The Camera will appear as "Removable Disk (K:) [(K:) is on my computer]. Opening this disk will show subdirectories "DCIM" and 100OLYMP. Your pictures are in 100OLYMP. They can be higlighted and drug into the folder of your choice on your computer.

View with windows media center, etc. or download Google's free PICASA 3. It can also download ("Import") your pictures.

good luck

Transferring files via Windows
Explorer (Drag-and-Drop)
In Windows XP (with Windows Media
Player 10 or above installed)
In Windows XP and when Windows Media Player10 is installed, the player is connected to the
computer in MTP mode. In the Windows Explorer, when the player is opened, the “Data” and
“Media” views will be displayed for the player. The Data folder is used to manage data content
on the player, such as text files. The Media folderis used to manage media content supported by
the player for playback, such as mp3 and wma.You can copy files to the player through Windows
Explorer (drag-and-drop). Picture files should be copied to the “Media” folder for viewing while
video files can not be dragged and copied to the “Media” folder directly as only .SMV files are
supported. The video files must be converted and transferred via RCA Video Converter for playback
(refer to page 19). Alternatively, you can transferthe converted video files to the "Data" folder via
the Windows Explorer (drag-and-drop).
You can copy files to / delete files from the player through Windows Explorer (drag-and-drop), but
you cannot open or edit the files directly from the player. If you want to edit the files, you will
need to copy the files from the player to another location (drive) in the system.
I was able to locate the manual for you...It will provide you with more information for your device..I hope this helps...
