You are able to erase tapes on this machine by holding down the play and rewind buttons together. To clear the entire cassette, you'll need to physically turn the tape over and repeat.

Hope that helps

There is no erase function on this model. You will need a tape eraser available at http://www.dictationmall.com/me20.html

Actually rewind is for backward erase. Play and wind is forward erase. Also the 710 manual is available here:

I have a 720 Transcription System which I can't erase any data off. There is a padlock symbol on the LED display. How do I get rid of it?

There is a tiny switch in the mechanism that detects if the erase prevention tab is broken off the cassette. Try another tape to see if it is the tape, otherwise, that switch is probably broken. The tab is located to the right of the orange colored area on the picture. There is one one each side of the tape.

Hello Press the PLAY and REWIND keys at the same time the LCD display shows the fast rewind symbol together with an S to indicate that the tape is being erased backward. The erase function continues until either the beginning of tape is reached or another function is selected. if this does not work Send an email to [email protected] or call (800) 644-9525. I recently got a Philips DVD Recorder/VCR: Model No. DVDR3510V/05; Serial No. 0751 010790. I have recorded a VCR tape and would like to transfer this to a DVD±R disc. Can you tell me how to delete...

After you transfer the data to the DVD, you can use a DVD editing program like the DVD remake found on this link

http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/dvdremake_tutorial.cfm

and you can edit out all of the commercials

let me know if you have further questions with this
