I recently purchased a Samsung HT-BD2R 7.1 Channel Blu-ray Home Theatre System and i would like to have the normal tv and the PS3 sound coming through the theatre system. Could you please tell what cable i would have to use to be able to do this.

If your television has RCA style audio/video output you can use an audio RCA cable (red & white connectors) and simply plug from the 'output' of your television into the auxilliary input on the back of the HT-BD2.

Then select AUX on the HT-BD2 remote, whenever you wish to listen to the television audio.

Connect the PS3 with HDMI to the Home theatre.

Connect the TV digital optical out put to the optical input cable of HT-BD2R provide your tv has a optical digital out put

You have the option of channeling the out put through either optical or HDMI in PS3.Go to the set up and set the audio out put to HDMI

I can't turn the blu-ray player on or off with the remote. I can however do it manually. I also cannot open the disc drawer either with the remote or manually.

So would it be safe to say the remote isn't working?

• Is the remote control being operated within its operation range of angle and distance?

• Are the batteries exhausted?

• Have you selected the mode(TV/DVD) functions of the remote control (TV or DVD) correctly?

How can I connect my PS3 to the HT BD2 and get it to play dolby digital or dts audio? Thanks

Use an optical cable and then it should work just fine. Just saw Avatar from my PS3 through the Samsung HT-BD2 and the sound was excellent.
So go and buy an optical cable :)
My problem is to get the BD2 to download updates. It doesn´t seem to work for me.

Connect an optical lead from the sky hd box to the Samsung Blue Ray.

I have bouight a samsung home theatre system that comes complete wiht a DVd player - i also have a samsung blu ray player - naturally ithought they would be compatible!! how wrong i was!! the connections...

You have several ways to do this. You can hdmi cables from the two units and plug them into your tv if it supports hdmi and run the audio out portion on the back of the tv and hook that into one of the audion inputs on the surround unit. Or you run audio directly out of the bluray using rca, digital coax, or digital optical cable. Turn the surround reciever to the corresponding input that you choose to use.

Blu-Ray disc stops playing after 20 minutes

New Blu Ray home theater player can not play new Blu Ray movies according to Samsung customer support. It is a JAVA code issue and they are working on a software upgrade. No release date is known. I tried playing The Hulk, Ironman and Wanted. None would play.

Thanks Samnsung for wasting my time and money!!!

I have no surround sound when watching normal T.V

Hi there, in order to listen to t.v you need to purchase an optical cable and plug this in the optical out of the tv to the optical in on the blue ray then select D.IN.1 on the blue ray and press mode on the remote until it says matrix . This will allow you to listen to the t.v through all speakers. hope this helps. Also remember to take the rubber protectors off the ends of the optical cable, a lot of people forget this :)
