Xl44 spectra oven temp very low

The GE gas range JGBP35 XL44 will maintain the correct temperature. I baked cookies and the temp display read 380. The cookies were under cooked so shut the oven off and immediately turned it back on and the temperature then read 304 degrees F. My thought is the thermostat is the problem but I don't know for sure. If so, how do you replace the thermostat and who sells the parts? Thanks in advance for any help!

SOURCE: Digital Control (for oven temp and clock adjustment) not working

Puzzeled, usually when there is a stuck or shorted keypad there will be an error code. First let's see if we can tell if we are in Centigrade or Ferenhiet. Press the bake and broil button together for 2 or 3 seconds. SF should appear in the display. Press the broil pad again and C or F will be displayed. Toggle to F and press start. See if that was the problem. If not try to increase the speed of the + and - keypads. Press bake and broil together for 2 seconds until SF displays. Press the + keypad increase the speed of the control. It should toggle from 1 to 5, 5 being the fastest. Press start and see if that works. If niether works..then have someone remove the keypad ribbon cable from the control board and clean the ends with an eraser. See if that solves the issue...Catriver..post back and let me know.

My GE XL44 Self-Cleaning Gas oven heats up but is about 125-130 degrees cooler than what it is set for.

To Adjust the Thermostat

  1. Touch the BROIL HI/LO and BAKE pads at the same time for 3 seconds until the display shows SF.
  2. Touch the BAKE pad. A two digit number shows in the display.
  3. Touch BAKE again to alternate between increasing and decreasing the oven temperature.
  4. The oven temperature can be adjusted up to (+) 35°F (19°C) hotter or (-) 35°F (19°C) cooler. Touch the number pads the same way you read them. For example, to change the oven temperature 15°F (8°C), touch 1 and 5.
  5. When you have made the adjustment, touch the START pad to go back to the time of day display. Use your oven as you would normally.

GE Xl44 does not reach or maintain setpoint . Display indicates increases of 5 degrees/second, but temp is not reached or maintained.

Have your oven ignitor checked. If they do not get hot enough quick enough the oven will light intermit. Usually when it does light you will often get a scent of gas or a poof. If that's the case, change the ignitor
