Ok. do you have itunes. and that will but the music on it. you can go to my computer and open the ipod icon  (when it hooked up) and then you can drag things to it, that is how i put a lot of things on mine. but im pretty sure that you have to have it in enable disk mode to do that,

My apple ipod 8gb was handed down to me and it had a bunch of other things in it. i put my songs in it but when i opened my ipod it still wouldnt show my songs.

You need to put songs on your iPod through iTunes. You need to have iTunes installed on your computer. It's a free download from Apple. Load your CD's into iTunes or buy songs from the Apple iTunes Music Store. Connect your iPod and click (Restore). This will rebuild all the software on the iPod and restore your songs.

Itunes mistakenly put other songs onto my ipod touch and deleted all of the ones i already had and wanted, i didnt want the ones that were downloaded and i cant delete them what should i do because i cant...

I have had this problem before and it is a simple fix. What I think has happened to you is that you iPod is automatically syncing songs which I personally dont like. To change this plug in your iPod and then in iTunes click on your iPod in the left side bar and then make sure that 'Manually manage music' or similar is checked and then you should be able to go into the ipod and delete songs etc. and if you want to add music simply drag it from the library onto the iPod in the side pannel.

Hope this helps

My Apple iPod 512mb want work after i formated it.

I have the same problem kind of. I can get ITunes to recognize my ipod shuffle and play the songs through Itunes, but can't hear anything in my headset./ Also, is the green battery light supposed to stay lit the whole time the ipod is on? Mine goes off after like 2 or 3 seconds. Of course, Apple doesn't makr it an easy process to change a battery on one of these things, and if you send it to apple they bill you so much, you might as well buy a new one.
