SOURCE: TECHNICS SL-B280 DUST COVER W/ HINGES

All parts are discontinued for this model. The SL1200MK2 dust cover will not fit this turntable. You can actually have a dust cover made rather simply and cheaply (depending on where you live). Just take the dimensions to a PLEXIGLASS or even a GLASS shop. You can even purchase the Plexiglass yourself, cut it, and glue it together. I would suggest getting it professionally done. You can use any high impact plexiglass. Get something that is resistant to scratches and discoloring.

SOURCE: technics 1200sl pitch control

There seems to be 2 issues with this unit. Usually when the platter speeds up very quickly, one of the IC (integrated circuits) are faulty and needs to be replaced. However, I've never seen the 33/45 lights come on in addition. So, perhaps the issue started with faulty 33/45 switches, and it then caused a short to one of the IC's.

This will have to be professionally serviced, as it is not an easy fix. There are various circuits on the main board which control the drive, so it's a matter of diagnosing which is the culprit. The 33/45 switches will also need to be tested/replaced.

SOURCE: Technics SL-1200MK2 Turntable i need to replace the on off switch on a mk2 technics 1200 any

The part is located HERE - but you will have to take apart your turntable from the bottom in order to replace it. It's not very hard, but if your not mechanically inclined, I would not suggest doing it, as you could cause more damage.

SOURCE: Technics SL-L3 turntable no sound until warm up

either the cartridge is bad in the phonograph tone arm.  Or the pre-amp in the stereo is bad...remember that the turntable is the only accessory that uses the pre-amp input on the stereo.  I'm betting the pre-amp is bad.

There is power going through my technics 1210,but the platter & strobe light still will not work

how do you know theres power to the unit if theirs no strobe light pitch adjuster light & the platter doesn't spin?
the power comes in & to the transformer first, then through the strobe switch, the transformer is what blows when you short the target light out.....i've seen this many a time when people try & change the target lights to blue neon.

Hi, I have just bought a second hand Technics SL-1200 MK2 and it looks great overall. There is one problem though with the pitch. When I want to slow down the speed a bit, the platter starts to spin a...

Your problem Is more than likely one of two easy to fix things. First we'll try the easiest. that would be reset the centerpoint of your pitch controll. All you need is a Phillips screwdriver and a little time and this picture: Apparently the picture is too blurry to read so let me give you the link: http://www.deckdoctor.com.au/TECHNIC%20SL1200%20PCB.pdf
you don't have to worry about all the technical stuff really it's just started look at the strobe lights and slowly turn the screw as you move the slider back to Center and make sure you bring this keep the strobe stable. if that doesn't fix your problem, then you do have to worry about the complicated stuff. If you are not familiar with all of that, I would suggest just replacing the pitch control. it's cheaper than paying what it would cost you at a repair shop and very straight forward. You don't even need to saulder. They don't cost very much and the part number is right there you can get one on eBay for pretty cheap. Good luck

My technics 1200 hums when connected to the amp even when the power cord is disconnected.

Is the ground wire from the deck connected to the mixer?.

If everything is connected ok then the ground wire or phono cord could be faulty - look here for replacements :-

Could also be a "ground loop" - try a ground loop isolator.

Distorted sound on Technics SL-1200/1210

You could be getting acoustic feedback from the speakers to the TT's. Lower the volume or somehow isolate them from room sounds and vibrations.

My powerswitch on the sl 1200 is pushed in how do i pull iit out?

Basically you dont.
You will need to replace the power knob which comes complete with the brass rod that goes through the strobe housing. To do this you will need to remove the base of the deck - be carefull not to lose the spring and ballbearing.

When i turn on my technic 1200 turntable it the lights flicker and looses audio sometimes

Hi, i doubt the 2 are related as the T 1200 doesnt have a preamp, only speed control.

Maybe try checking to if there are any loose ground wires in the turntable (ONLY if you are comfortable to open)

Other than that it the sound issue might be either on the head, or on the phono outs not connecting properly.

If the speed is remaining good, then the issue is just with the LEDS themselves, maybe loose solder, if it is changng pitch as well, then dry joints in the power supply/pitch control

Hope that helps

Help for technics 1200 MK2 and 1210 Speed is too fast

On the 1200MK2 the pitch control slider is for just that purpose. Disregard the 0 setting and use the illuminated strobe marks on the platter to adjust to nominal speed. When they appear to be motionless you are there. The control on the 1210 may be a knob but the same principles apply.
