Check tv is set to pal or ntsc....it has to be the same as the output if the box. Then check the connections...have you a different hdmi lead as sometimes the lead is the wrong class....also try a different output slot or input slot to tv....change the av input or tv menu....do not use the tv to tune the box...you need to set the tv to the right av input for the box...then use the box menu to tune the box.....finally if the picture is still snowy then it has to be the dish alignment...or the cable between the dish and box connections is not tight enough.

SOURCE: Mitsubishi VS-5041 (TV turns on but no pic or sound)

Your problem is one and or 2 differant problems. The power regulator could have went bad because of the convergence IC have shorted. Seen this a thousand(easy that!)Times. All parts in this set are soldered in and are not user serviceable. look in your owners manual or call 800-332-2119 to get an authorized servicer to come and look at your problem . I wish i could tell you what to replace but theres the Extreme Hi voltage inside these sets even when they are not plugged in .. Good Luck

SOURCE: Mitsubishi VS-45607 Picture flickers and dims

It could be a bad solder connection that opens up as the set warms up. It could also be caused by a couple of bad capacitors, C2p05 (100uf/16v) Located By Ic2p01 and check C2c52 (10uf/50v) Located near Q2c51. A technican will be able to fix it for about what you paid for it I suppose.

SOURCE: Mitsubishi VS-60805 Rear Projection won't operate in HD mode with Cable Box

Since this is an older first generation (1999) HD TV it may not be compatible with newer HDTV receivers because the standards back then were different - Make sure the HD cable box is plugged into the HD component inputs on the back of the TV (not the DVD inputs) and that the menu setting on the TV is set to DTV (not RGB) video. This TV will only accept 480i and 480p signals on the DVD input. Also the HDTV input will only accept 480i,480p and 1080i (it will not work with a 720p signal, make sure your cable box is not set to that mode)

SOURCE: Mitsubishi vs 5051 rear projection tv sound but no picture

No video but good audio Mitsubishi VS5051. Check R509 and R 519, 100 ohm resistors located on the main PCB near the flyback transformer. Also bad connections on any of the yokes and the vertical output IC will cause the same problem.

The mitsubishi model vs-60805 tv will provide air channels off of cable hook-up, but does not provide cable channels. What needs to be done to recieve cable channels? The menu does not provide an apparent...

Hi,
Mitsubishi VS-60805 is 1999 model tv and unable to receive digital cable channels because it is equipped with analog tuner that can not receive cable channels because it is almost 11 years old.
You need to hook Cable Box in AV input of tv, plug digital cable in cable box and get digital cable channels in tv. Cable box has its own remote control and inbuilt digital tuner to receive all digital cable channels and widely available in Store, Radio Shake, amazon.com etc.
Let me know if you have additional question.
Thanks.

Mitsubishi VS-55609: No video/audio - just static

You are on the right track. If you cannot see a picture on either antanna A or B then the tuner is suspect.
You may try hooking the cable straight into the TV if you are using a cable box, if not then you should be getting a picture when your other video devices are turned off.
The fact that you get a picture on video tells me that the AV circuits are fine.

Thanks

Cannot connect to cable tv

Yes, connect cable to Ant A and ensure the TV is on the input for Ant A.

Then go into the setup menu and ensure that the Input is set to Cable not Antenna.

Next, choose the auto program option to load your channels.

If you still don't get a picture and you have a small tv to bring to this outlet try this and make sure you are able to get a picture.

If you still can not get a picture then the outlet is not active and you need to call your service provider and ask them to activate the outlet for you.

Can't get it to go above channel 23... (nothing wrong with cable hook up)

all done so far looks good. But the part where you went into the menu is about i'd like to talk:

before you send to auto-program feature. try to find changing the band where the tv is working now.
Let me explain.
The tv is looking channels in the antenna or air band. Make sure you change the selector to CABLE.
this selection usually it is previous to send to auto-program.
if all this was done and nothing change, we need to send the tv into the workshop to check the tuner and voltages related to it.

Snowy picture

Usually a snowy picture means that you have a bad ground connection. You should see that some channels are beter than others. Verify that the cable connection is good. Try a different cable if you can. If that has no effect, than we need to start looking at the tuner itself. If you can change channels but just have a poor picture, chances are that a resolder of the tuner section will resolve the problem.

Keep us posted.
