During install, my Digital Arts and Crafts Studio is not detected

I have XP in Spanish, I need a patch for the software to detect the device

    I have the same problem except I live in Ecuador and I don't know how to contact them because they only show a 800 number. If you were able to fix it let me know.

I had the same problem, the box doesn't say anything, but the software for Digital Arts & Crafts Studio MUST be on the same language as operating system.
I have my computer with Vista in spanish, but I bought DACS at Canada so the software was in english, I called to USA and they gave me the phone number of Mattel Customer Service at Mexico, they sold me the CD in spanish in about 10 USD and now it works.
I recommend to contact Mattel Customer Service at your countries to have the software in the correct language.

I can not install the program for the Digital Arts & Crafts Studio on my computer for my 4 years old daughter. During installation process I have the following error message: Error 1317 an error occurred...
This error is related to directory permissions and you might have to change some registry settings which is a complex task so it's better if you first try this very effective workaround.

While installing this software, there muist be one step where it is asking for the location to install. At that step chsnge the installation location as
Assuming you have XP
c:\documents and settings \(Your user account name)\Digital Arts\

In case if you have vista
c:\User\(Your user account name)\Digital Arts\
