Am using Presario CQ56 which i bought some months ago but the webcamb is not working.i can use it to make video calls or snap pictures

no photos posted, it takes what, 5min to snap photo and post it?
old CQ56, a relic in PC dog lives, for sure.

videos, well that is complex topic, videos have vast formats
and the players used and sources, non of which you stated.
whAT OS, XP the virus magnet, never post lacking OS name and version. or its all just fireworks, and bs.

last year, W7 was upgraded to W10 for free, did you?

I use VLC, the player works.
most others dont or can not do some formats, (bad acts)
as in most program apps, xp verison are rife with viruses on line
so avoid XP. unless that is fun, getting cyberattacked.
most sources are malware or worse, use the makers pages.
is best. this is the best I can do lacking OS name, and no photos of the failing app.

This model Compaq laptop does not have a built-in WEB cam.

To use video call with Skype you need to purchase an USB WEBcam, connect the WEBcam into the Compaq laptop's USB port and install the WEBcam driver that came with the WEBcam.
Then configure Skype - select the WEBcam and mic.

It Could be because your laptop is infected with Virus . Due to Virus your Explorer.exe File was corrupted. If now computer is all right after restoring then I'll suggest you to use Good Antivirus Program and regular update it and Scan your Window Regularly.

Other expert is right--if not charger may be a loose socket where it plugs in or even a bad battery is possible.

have you cleaned the laser. they do need a clean every now and then. cotton bud does the trick with some lazer cleaning fluwid on it

Assuming you don't have a virus, the laptop's internal (CMOS) battery may be bad. Apart from keeping the time current, it holds onto your machines bootlog. If the machine starts up in Safe Mode, it would likely be the CMOS battery that's bad.

a machine that new I would defiantly take it back and have it either fixed or replace, time is on your side i would take advantage of the manufacture warranty. i would also look on the keyboard see if there is a mouse locking feature, its normally the picture of a mouse on one of your function keys, press function and the key with the mouse icon on it and that may take care of it.
