I recently purchased a Sears 22 self propelled with rear bag

When I mow over areas with sparse grass dirt is pouring through the top of the bag. The mower and I are covered with dirt. The new bag seems to be way to porous. Any solution?

They only catch grass not dirt they need air flow to work and if not porous they wouldn't work

Why won't my 22 in. Kohler Low Wheel Variable Speed Self-Propelled Gas Lawn Mower self propel anymore?

i would guess that the belt is'nt tight enough when engaged. when you press the drive bar on the handle it should make the belt really tight if not it will need replaced. sometimes the gears in the wheels will mess up. there are videos on you tube that describe that and also the belt.

I have a new 650 sears craftsman self propelled 22" lawnmower that will not start. I have gone through the prime bulb instructions, still no luck.\r\nAny ideas? Walter in Alberta Canada.

could be the priming bulb gasket between the air-filter assy. and the carb.
I have the same lawnmower and if I prime with gas from a can it will start but stop after a few seconds. When I push the bulb I can hear air leaking in this area. You can replace the gasket by removing the back half of the air-filter assembly. I am looking to buy a gasket today I let you know how it works out! Thanks Ron

22 In Craftsman Self propelled.Starts easy, runs good for about 15-20 mins. Starts missing and dies. Will start again in about 30 mins New spark plug/ air filter

Oh my, that is so annoying. There is probably dirt in the carb. or the gas tank. What I think happens is, the dirt gets sucked up into the fuel line and clogs the carb, then when the mower sits for a while the dirt goes back into the tank for another couple minutes. I have absolutely no tolerance for this when it happens.

Own a Troy Bilt self-propelled model #12A-466-M011 for a year now. It worked great when first got it. Now it will not clear the grass underneath so cuts off every 15 feet and have to manually clear grass...

I had the same problem with my Troy-Bilt self propelled lawn mower. You have to use the grass catcher if your grass is high. Also, I mowed wet grass and it made my belt slip off the pulley and created a new problem, somowing wet grass is definitely not a good idea.

Self propell wont work when wheels are in put in grass. I have changes cable and drive belt. what could be problem?

If you take off the wheels, you'll see gears inside the wheels, check for wear and tear. If their Ok, check the cogs and pins inside the cogs on the base (or chassis) for wear and tear

Poulan Pro 22" does not mulch!

When you mulch you can only cut 1/3 of the grass off. If the grass is 3" high you can only cut 1" off.If you are cutting more grass of than you are leaving there is no place to hide the clippings.A general rule is if you notice clippings and clumps beginning to lay set the mower up one notch at a time until the clippings are hardly noticeable. If you like a real low cut then mulching is probably not for you,you will probably want to bag the grass instead.Hope this helps.
