Installation error FIRST TIME I AM INSTALLING THE WIN XP PROFESSIONAL SERVICE PACK 2 USING COMPAQ PRESARIO CQ60-104TU.BUT I RECEIVE THE BLUE SCREEN ERROR AFTER COMPLETE OF FILE COPYING.WHAT SOLUTION FOR THIS

Did you try to set your BiOS to default and set your boot to CD first?

For most hp Compaq laptop, when installing Win XP resulting in Blue Screen Of Death (BOSD)

Take note** Reset your Bios setting,
"Disable" ->SATA Native Support -> save & exit

Then install WinXP.

If u just want XP . Source a dos boot ( u can get files from internet), format the HDD .create main partision for windows xp and try installing

i believ ur using 32 bit operating system.change the boot sequence by pressing F12 at restart and select cd/dvd rom option while the windows cd still inside the drive,,format the c drive completely{if possible format the whole hdd} and then reinstall the windows os xp..i hope it will work fine,,just follow the screen prompts very very carefully and u will find everything mentioned,,best of luck

Ok it must be one of this problems:

1) you had vista, you wanted xp for whatever reason. you are doing a fresh install using the service pack 3 disk. there is hardware combatiblity issues and must stay with vista. this is becoming more common with the life of xp coming to an end.

2) you had xp and are reinstalling and hardware has failed.

3) you had service pack 2 or before and are updating your service pack and there is some issue with hardware or software.

From the description loo\ks like it's not a partition problem, but the Compaq CD.
Try to partition Hard Drive using Windows 98 bootable CD.
Try to install Win XP from different CD - doesn't have to be Compaq. Later you can download drivers.

have an compaq presario cq40-301tu laptop want to load xp already vista is loaded in that while installing xp i get an blue dump error & no setting in bios found to make sata compatible please give me the solution how i can install win xp2-

Presario was design for windows vista. if I am sure the windows you're installing cannot find the hard disk. I it is not compatible with the machine, look for I higher windows version and I recommend windows XP professional service pack 2 as the lowest you should use.

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL is a hardware error.
might be processor is over heating or you have a bad ram.
