When I plug my ipod into my computer, it doesn't show up anywhere. Neither in "My Computer" or itunes. I'm running Windows XP Professional. I've tried resetting and forcing it to disk mode, reinstalling itunes, changed USB ports, and all the other possible solutions offered by the help web site. It was suggested that I take it to an Apple store for repair. It still plays music and videos that are downloaded on it, it just won't sync up with itunes.I have more music and videos that I wish to install on it. it doesnt show up anywhere when I plug it in it does show up. I have a fairly new computer with Vista Home OS. I just recently got a Nano ipod for my bday. I had previously installed itunes on my computer before recieving the ipod. But now my ipod only works with the latest itunes 8.0. I tried to set up my ipod to sync with my computer by downloading the itunes 8.0 but the error 2329 pops up shortly after starting the installation. I have tried removing all the itunes and reinstalling with the 8.0 but this error code keeps stopping installation. The error code states there must be a problem with the file being corrupt!! HELP!!
For it to recongnize, maybe try:
1: go to control panel
2:add hardware
3:connect your hardware device and click "yes i have connected the hardware"
4:scroll down and select install new hardware device
5:select install hardware that i manually select from a list
6:scroll down to windows portable devices
7:and choose MTP device
this should make it so your ipod is now recognised by the computer
