My 120gb ipod randomly deleted all my music on it. Unfortunately, because my mac crashed about 6 months ago and I've only just got it fixed, I haven't got all my songs on my itunes to just load it all up again. However though, I strangely still have files which I loaded onto it's hard drive and it is indicating that I only have 20gb of space left, which is the exact amount I had when all of the songs were on it. Any help?

SOURCE: Getting ipod to record music

Symptom When opening iTunes for Windows you may see the following error message:
"iTunes might be unable to launch or communicate with iPod or iPhone. For help repairing your operating system, click More Information." Products affected

  • iTunes for Windows
Solution This symptom may be caused by an issue with the digital signing of Windows XP drivers. First, update to the latest version of iTunes. You can download the updater here or in iTunes, choose Help > Check for Updates.
If the issue continues with the latest version of iTunes, try following the steps below to reregister several .dll files, which may resolve this issue.
  1. Quit iTunes.
  2. Highlight all of the following 10 lines of text that begin with regsvr32 and then choose Copy from the Edit menu of your web browser: regsvr32 /s softpub.dll
    regsvr32 /s wintrust.dll
    regsvr32 /s dssenh.dll
    regsvr32 /s rsaenh.dll
    regsvr32 /s gpkcsp.dll
    regsvr32 /s sccbase.dll
    regsvr32 /s slbcsp.dll
    regsvr32 /s mssip32.dll
    regsvr32 /s cryptdlg.dll
    regsvr32 /s initpki.dll

  3. Open the Notepad program by choosing
Start > All Programs > Accessories > Notepad
  4. In Notepad, choose Paste from the Edit menu. Note: make sure that the text that appears in Notepad is the same as what is shown above.
  5. From the File menu, choose Save As.
  6. In the File name field type appleitunes.bat and save the file to the Desktop.
  7. Close Notepad and locate the appleitunes.bat file. It should appear on the Desktop with the icon shown below: 305999_1.jpg
  8. Double-click the file and you will see a black window appear on the screen for about a minute. Wait until the window automatically disappears and proceed to the next step.
  9. The appleitunes.bat file can be deleted at this time.
  10. Open iTunes.
Additional Information Because some malware may unregister the .dll files, make sure you have the most recent updates to your anti-virus software and then do a full scan of your files.

You Itunes purchases have to be restored to the hard drive as well. Otherwise you will have to repurchase them. Itunes doesn't allow you to copy your purchased songs from your Ipod into the library on your hard drive. You can play them from Ipod as long as you enter you Itunes account information. Make sure your Ipod is set to manually manage music or you will wipe out the songs.

How do you bring a deleted app back

Im afraid it's not possible. After you delete an app, everything goes with it. It remembers your username because of online registries for the app but nothing else. The data you want is stored on your ipod touch. The only way you could've saved it is if you backed up your ipod touch with itunes before you deleted it. Backing up in itunes saves all "in-app" data as well has what is on the ipod touch itself.....Sorry

I lost my lock code for my ipod 30GB

If you have access to the primarycomputer you use with your iPod, and your media saved on your hard drive.Follow PC/Mac instructions (Not technical)below to sync your iPod, and then restore its firmware which will removethe lock code.

If you use an Apple Laptop and are comfortable using Terminal you can skipbelow to Mac (Technical) instructions. This solution is somewhat technical and requires you to deletesystem files which can be risky, but it doesn't require restoring your iPod.Not recommended unless you know what you are doing.

Warning: Restoring your iPod will delete all the data and restore theiPod you factory settings. Only do this if you have your media saved on yourPC, or this is a last resort to get the functionality of your iPod back.
