I'm not very tech savvy when it comes to this and I have tried to find it online but nothing has helped so far. All the places I've searched have used technical language including the site it originates from and I just don't understand what they're on about :s
SOURCE: nintendo ds lite will not turn on, when trying to charge the orange lite blinks once.
after researching this for a while, i heard that it is because the fuses have blown inside the ds. you can try to fix it but it is risky.
good luck!
SOURCE: Nintendo DS Lite Problem
That sounds like your DS lite have a lose circuit part rolling inside so thats why it cant turn on.
You need to open the console, recover the lose part from the inside and resolder it in its place (usually near the power switch, marked as L2). That should fix the problem, if not then you might have blown fuses, lose screens ribbon cables or broken LCD screens. All of these repairs are discussed in other questions here.

SOURCE: charger socket broken
That little black thing goes into the charger so without it, or something to replace it, you can not charge, unless you somehow found a way to take out the battery and charge it outside of the ds. I would highly recommend sending it back to Nintendo or something like that.
SOURCE: nintendo ds lite won't read card
had this problem, i looked into where the game goes and one of the little metal teeth was bent, so i took a long toothpick and gently pushed it back over now it works fine. Be careful that you dont break it off though.
