Hi Riger, Can you provide some more detail about your problem? As a first
step you should have your system scanned and find out what is triggering
the emission light. It's unlikely that the thermostat will trigger an
emission issue, unless it's the thermostat in the catalytic converter.
Since it only does it when ya let off the throttle,with car stopped and raised enough you can reach the drive shaft with emergency brake on and shift in neutral,grab the drive shaft and twist it back and forth to check if too much backlash in rear pinion and ring gear.If too much backlash,pull the drive shaft off the rear and tighten the nut JUST enough to take the backlash out near completely.Riger says,don't let the car roll while doing this.Block all wheels.
