Audio problems with DVD on surround system

The system is hooked and the audio cables are plugged in correctly. The TV sound is fine but when you play DVD's you only hear background music and voices. The main character voices are very faint and hard to hear. The volume goes from -82kb to 0 kb. We can't seem to make it go past 0 to get it into the positive zone. I didn't know if this was normal or not. There is nothing in the manual about this, we've called Panasonic for tech support and continue to get disconnected. I have checked all the audio settings on the system. The speaker for the TV is turned off so you can hear the Tv through the sound system. I'm completely stuck. Please help. Tina

I'm having the same problem...my HT730 system only plays the background music and sounds for some DVDs. It plays the sound from the cable/tv perfectly find...it's just having issues with certain DVDs. Can anyone offer assistance?

- 82k  ^  0k  is normal   it is called consumer output. when you go into the + zone   that is studio grade pro audio.  so this is not your problem... i think  either you have a bad output or bad speakers...... try some other speakers, but careful !  not to blow them with loud volume  if they are not set up for this unit.  hope i could help   also try other on board sound settings when trying other speakers       imanfix

IM tryin to hook up my samsung home theater system to my philips tv. It works when watching dvd, but when i switch to my basic tv cable it doesnt play sound out of my surround sound speakers. How can i...

Check what type of Audio input it has on it. It should either have an Optical Audio input(glowing red while unit is turned on) or an Audio input(red and white jacks) You would run the correct cable from the Audio Output on your tv, To the Audio Input on your surround sound reciever. Let me know if this helps solve your problem.

I have an lg lcd mod#lc427d hdtv how do i hook up an rca rt2280 system to it. i have a dvd player hooked up to tv now using hdmi cables, rca av reciever does not have them...

You can check your dvd player for a coaxial or an optical sound output, then you can plug it directly to your receiver. Those two are the best options after HDMI. Another option is A/V RCA type cable, you´ll need 3 stereo A/V wires, in order to connect the 6 channels. Remember to uncheck the HDMI sound output option on the DVD menu.

Ibought samsung surround sound and hooked it to the tv,but it only works when i play dvd.how can i connect to my tv so i can surround sound from tv or drem box

connect audio cables from the audio out jacks on your tv to the audio in jacks on your samsung surround. they may be labeled video 1,2 or aux. if your using a cable box the cable box may have optical or digital input jacks. your samsung surround should have a digital in jack which requires an optical cable.

Proscan tv surround sound hook up

This depends on whether you have digital cable box or not. If you have a Digi Cable Box look for the red/white RCA output and connect this via RCA cable to the Red/White Audio input on your surround.

If just Basic Cable look for a red/white audio output on the back of your televison. connect this to the Red/white in on your surround. Could be called tv in or auxillary.

Problem getting home theatre sytem to play audio when watching tv

you need the red and white audio cable hooked into the AUDIO OUT connectors on the tv and the other end of the red and white cables into the AUDIO IN in tv to the media center (main Bose unit).....If your tv does not provide AUDIO OUT connectors, you cannot connect the tv audio to the 3-2-1 system. Continue using your tv speakers for sound.

How do I get my tv to play through the surround sound

If you have direct cable into the television, you will need to use an audio output if available on the back of your set into your HT system.

If you are using cable w/ a cable box you have two options. You can still connect everything directly into the TV then reroute the audio to the HT system... or, you could hook only video to the TV and audio from the cable box to the HT system. Really up to you.

Audio via hdmi

Have you tried to hook up your DVD player directly to the surround sound system? If you direct the sound through the TV, it has to pass several circuits and the quality will be lover. Just connect it right away to your sound system. :-)
