Hi, i bought a tomtom 1 3rd adition from a friend. I didnt have the instruction or box just the actual tomtom and car charger. Every time i press home their address still comes up how do i change this. many thanks

Hi you need to clear the error from service mode.
press aditional function
press 2
press 8
press aditional function.
there should be in screen #sssw with arrow ? search for CLEAR press ok one time . then with arrow search for ENGINE press ok one time . with arrow search for ERR press ok one more time . turn the machine off and unplugg it from current for about 5 seconds. turn power on and problem should be corrected. if problem persist replace the fixing heater unit

Hi . The second error indicates there is a temperature problem in the fixing unit. You need to clear that error from service mode first.
with the machine turned on Press the next:
Press aditional function once
Press 2 and 8 at the same time once
Press aditional function once again .
Service mode should appear in the screen . If doesn't repeat the secuence until it does .
Then in the touch screen
select copier
Select Function Select Clear
Select ERR and press ok in the lower corner of the touch screen .
Turn off the machine for a few seconds (5)
Turn the machine on . If problem persist that mean the fixing unit is defective

press aditional function ,then 17+39 ( 1and 7 same time , 3 and 9 same time) again additional function .and select 95 th option in display (e355 and all ram clear ) press 2 and enter ..within few minitus mechine restart if restartting time just swich of mechine manually and on

It appears that the battery will not hold a (good) charge anymore. If it is still under warranty, contact TomTom to address that problem. They may replace the unit for you.
It is not unusual for (rechargeable) batteries to loose it's capability to hold a good charge if it is plugged in (to a power source) all the time, even while it is not in use.

First check the charger connection. If an alternative charger is available test different chargers.


If the Tomtom is starting, then try first resetting your TomTom.

To reset the TomTom follow the instructions on TomTom website, clicking here: TomTom, portable GPS car navigation systems - Factory reset .

If the Nav is still freezing or is dead after reset, then there is an internal fault.


In both situations the alternatives are going to a TomTom shop or calling the TomTom service number listed on manual and following the instructions given by their representatives.

If the unit is completely dead, as a first thing better going to a TomTom shop and asking to test a different charger.

The charger can also be tested at home using a multimeter on charger connector.

plug in your xl via the usb cable to your computer and let it charge a few hours, then press and hold the power button for up to 15 seconds.

do not use the car or home charger to intially charge your xl. they are to maintain the battery, not a rapid charge.

First of all, do a FULL backup with win explorer or similar asap. Oh, did i mention backup? Do it NOW!
Done? Sure...? Great, then you can carry on.... :-)

- You can also do a hard reset, but don't see why you should need to, but anyway, here's how to:

1. Hold reset button pressed for approx 15 sec
2. Press power button while pressing reset button
3. Release reset button while still pressing power button
4. Device should start, hold power button pressed until you see white text on screen, last line should read "RTC..."
5. Release power button

I presume the charger has an USB connector.
5v and 2A are the correct figures for a Go910.
