Which of the many Philips universal remotes do you have? http://www.urc.philips.com/ lists them all. Then use the remote code finder to look up Philco. For example, the code 2192 is the Philco code for the SRP 4004.
However, the codes built into the remote may not work if the remote is older than the TV (or was programmed within 6 months of the TV's release). There is a time lag for codes going from the manufacturer to the universal remote makers.
On most universal remote control, you will find the procedure to enter
the builder code OR a procedure to pass through all the code of the
remote, one by one and pass to the other TILL you find the right one.
It happen to me numbers, a bit upsetting procedure but you'll find out...
I determined that the Philco Remote Control that I wanted to program for use on a Magnavox tv was too old (20+ Years) and dead. It also did not have the features of a new Universal Remote. So, I tosed the Philco remote and purchased a new Universal Remote Control.
