Once your baby can sit up consistently without falling over (sometime between 9 and 12 months), he can move to a booster seat. But the longer you can keep your child safely strapped in his high chair, the better. Most children don't transition until they're between 18 months and 2 years old.

Yes, a high chair for your baby is a good idea when your baby start sit up on his own and start taking solids. It's easy for you to feed her and let her sit for a long time safely.

According to me you can buy the high chair for your 6 month baby. While feeding the baby sitting in highchair is more comfortable for both of you. The modern chair has a lockable caster wheels so you can easily move the chair where ever you please. Baby chair with seat belt can prevent the child from slipping down and you can strap your infant with comfortable seat belt and for getting more information you can visit

: I recommend getting ahigh chair for babies in this age. Boosters will not provide the body sidesupport a baby needs. When your baby is sitting and stable (when about 1.5-2Years, than it is safer to try a booster.

How to choose a safe high chair

Perhaps the most important feature in a high chair is its' safety. Safety must be put first when buying this type of chair. Foremost, you should make sure the chair has a five-point safety harness or another type of safety that doesn't allow the baby to stand up from the chair or slip down from it. Next, make sure that the high chair is constructed appropriately and does not make any weird noises. Make sure it doesn't get out of position or collapses when there's pressure on it. After that, make sure that the moving parts cannot harm the baby in anyway. Finally, check the edges of the chair to see if there are any sharp points that could harm the child. Clearly, high chairs must be picked carefully the safety must be put first. Last thing you want to is an unnecessary injury to your baby just because of a poorly made high chair.

What age are high chairs for?

The manufacturers say from 6-24 months. Babies will be more comfortable in their high chairs when they can support their heads better. Smaller babies may need a booster to help them feel more supported.

When can my baby start using a highchair?

A highchair can be used as soon as your baby is big enough to sit up on their own. This is normally around 6 months old, depending on the development of your child it may be slightly sooner or later than that.
