Showing test on front of hotpoint washer/dryer aquarius

To get out of it you need to press start, the display should go daft. Press start again and the display should settle down. Now press the on/off button and the start button at the same time and hold them down for a few seconds until the display shows d-end or d-off.

try this - press start, press start again. Now press the on/off button and the start button at the same time and hold them down for 5-10 seconds until the display shows d-end or d-off.

press and hold on off button till the display panel lights up.Then press and hold the on/off button and the start /cancel button together.You will now reset the washing machine settings.And just pick your cycle again

try switching on the appliance untill TEST shows then press and hold both the on/0ff button and the start/reset button at the same time until d OFF shows on display then release.you have then turned this off.

Press and hold "on/off" and "start" buttons together for five seconds.

Try this sequence; Hold down start and cancel button together, TEST should disappear of display,
Then hold down START/ CANCEL, and ON/OFF at the same time.
The message D/off should appear in the display, it should then work.
If it does not then the main pcb is likely to be faulty..
That will mean calling an engineer.

After pressing different buttons and waiting 10 to 15 seconds after turning the power off, I have finally found the solution.
When you have pressed the "Start/Cancel" button to start your wash programme the LCD shows "test".
You must then press the "Start/Cancel" button which will give you the normal temperature and washing time and then importantly you must depress both the "Start/Cancel" button with the "On/Off" button which will give you a different LCD message and then it will automatically resets itself.

turn the machine on while pressing the on annd stat buttons at the same time until dOFF appears.

This has happend to me today! this is the fix

1. Press and hold the Start/Cancel button until message clears
2. Now press both Start/Cancel and On/Off buttons together until you get a dOFF message
3. now your machine should work OK

funny my machine does the same, i have had 2 answers one says to hold both the on off button and start button till it comes out of test mode? well something like that, (didn't work) and another tells me its just the board thats faulty, I do believe myself this can be reset by the right test equipment from Hotpoint (Hotpoint not helpful and i have a Hotpoint engineer as a neighbour), its also most embarrassing as i am a recently retired appliance engineer myself of 20 years, i have also been told its a conspiracy to get an engineer to call out to reset it and charge for doing so (being a computer control machine (not sure myself, these things don't happen - do they) Ps if you get told a cure and it works tell me please
