SOURCE: Help! Our Optoma DLP
There is a lense behind the main focus lense that's causing this. Flakes of the colored tint are coming off causing white light to shine through. If you look at your projection, you can see black spots as well, these being the flakes that have re-located themselves. I dug into mine deep enough to diagnose this, to actually replace the little lense would be a little tricky. The unit has to be mostly disassembled. Also I haven't been able to locate a vendor who sells the part. Optoma wants you to send it in so they can do the repair, and won't part w/ these component level parts.
SOURCE: I have a Optoma HD
as greg instruction, it is very detail,
usually, white dots problem is reason of the DMD. perhaps the manufcaturer can't directly and singly sell a parts for end user, they always let you send broken machine to their repair store, then ask for high repair cost.
actually, optoma HD67 projector with 1280*720 pixels, so i think you should buy a 1272-6038B DMD chips, if you need further help, please freely contact me again,
