SOURCE: removing the watch stem

Hi, it depends on the watch . Look carefully ,if there is a release button , somethin you can press on or lift up. Sometimes a needle is enough to do the job. On some quartz movements (the cheap ones) you just can't remove the stem ...
hope this will be helpfull!

SOURCE: ROLEX QUICK-SET FEATURE

1) un-screw the pin by turning it towards you, until the spring pops it out. 2) pull the pin out to the next notch 3) turn the pin towards you and watch the date change (if the minute hand is moving when you turn the pin, you pulled out too far).

SOURCE: Cannot put the backing of my casio wrist watch

No, you do NOT need a spec tool. All you have to do is to reassemble watch strap completely(with all the bits and pieces, insl. wings, armour, etc).

SOURCE: How to Open a Gucci watch

Most watches are either screwed on and typically have a series of small notches around the circumference of the case back. A special tool is generally called for. Otherwise they are "snap back" . These are simply pressed on. To remove you can carefully use a regular knife in the absence of a "case knife". There is usually a small gap/groove/notch area to insert the balde and lift the back off.

SOURCE: Hi. I have a

Hi Susan, most Watches will require a tool to remove the back, some use a knife like tool, and some use an adjustable key type tool to fit the slots of the watch cover, so that you can unscrew the back off. Sometimes you can use a thin knife too, be very careful not to cut yourself, and also not to damage the rubber gasket. The gasket sometimes will need replacement on some watches if they are waterproof. I recommend having a watch expert look at it if you feel you can't do this yourself.
Also the tools are available on eBay. I hope this helps you. Joe

You would have to unscrew the back (needs a special tool) and leave it open to dry..then probably have it cleaned. Only a professional watch mender can do this.
BUT Rolex watches are water resistant. It either isnt as Rolex, or you went too deep

its a custom made double handed tool with a milled edge cut out to mesh with the case back to use anything else will mark and damage the watch and to open the back will interfere with its water resistance unless pressure tested again

Submariner-how do I open it? I dropped it, and one of the dots(#'s) dislodged on the face.

If it is a true Rolex they require a special wrench that grips the tiny serrations around the base of the back. You will need to take it to a watch repairman, the tool is very costly.

Can;t open back of watchto find date it was made do i need special tool or some thing else can be used

You definitely need special Rolex case back opener. Without it your watch will be locked forever. Rolex cases are so tight, that even when special opener is used, you will need quite strong arms to open it. Rolex case openers sometimes sells on ebay, but they are never cheap.

Cant open my rolex daytona watch

To open a Rolex watch you need a special Rolex tool to unscrew the case back. They are really on tight and the wrong tool can cause damage. Why mess up a good watch? Once you get in there, what do you hope to do? Change a battery? Nope they don't have one. So please take that fine watch to someone that really knows what to do'

I can not open the back cover of my Rolex Submariner, I hear something rattling inside.

If the watch is working okay, and it is a self-winding model (i.e. it doesnt not have a battery which relatively few Rolexs do) then the noise you probably can hear is the self-winding mechanism.
Rolex backs are very, very difficult to remove and watch repairers have special tools to do so. As a Rolex is an offically certified chronometer, and therefore has an incrediby accurate and complex mechanism, the backs are deliberatly designed to be difficult to remove by just anybody.

Taking the glass from my watch

Rolex glasses are held in place by the bezel ( ring surrounding the glass ). Bezel must be lifted off first in case if the glass must be removed. Rolex bezels are friction fitted and are very tight. Usually special tools are used for bezel lifting, but in skilled hands the watchmakers knife can do the job as well (inserting the blade between the bezel and case and slowly prying up all athe way around).
In most cases the bezel still holds the glass when lifted off the case. To release the watch from bezel ring you will need a special press with dies as you will need it for refitting glass and bezel on to the case.
I would advice to find your nearest watch repair shop and ask for help, because without proper tools it is allmost impossible to remove and reset Rolex glasses without damaging them.
Do not forget to rate, please.

Setting the independent hour hand on a Rolex Explorer II

It should be the 3rd position on the crown: 1st date, 2nd hour, 3rd time zone. And don't take it to a "jeler" like jamison said. If you cannot do this watch is fake.

Faux men's rolex date just

An authentic Rolex will have a screw down back with exactly 144 small teeth. You can only open a Rolex case with a special Rolex tool (Key). We use the Bergeon hand wrench to open Rolex cases. Supplied with 6 Bergeon grooved chucks(18.50, 20.20, 22.50, 26.50, 28.30 and 29.50 mm), these are the same chuck used in the Bergeon 5700RO and will fit in the Bergeon Bit Adpater for 5700-Z Case Opener our number FB-231. Replacement chucks and replacement handle are available in case you have a set that is missing a piece. As is the case with any fine mechanical instrument, special tools are required in order to properly service and adjust a precision instrument such as a fine timepiece. If you are not experienced, it is better to leave this to a Certified Rolex tech. If you do feel you want to proceed, this tool will set you back about $140.00 or so. Just as the internal parts of the Rolex are exact, so is the watch case that protect the valuable watch movement. These tools are used to open the Rolex case without causing expensive damage. You can call Bob Frei at 510-832-0355 ext. 2 from 11 AM to 5 PM Pacific Time Zone, to order one if you wish, or several other sellers of these fine tools can be found by doing a little research on the net. Hope this has helped you.
