Equator 20 in. PLS600 Free-Standing Dishwasher Logo
Posted on Nov 26, 2008

I have an equator PLS600 and I can't seem to get it to work. I have tried the WikiFix to help a stalled dishwasher, by adding water and vinegar. When I put on the wash cycle it does not run. Even with the short rinse cycle, the sprayer will not move, and the machine will just run through the cycle until it starts to drain. Please help!!! Thanks =)

Give the spray arm a spin to make sure it rotates. It should spin freely. If not, remove plastic spray arm clip, flip it over, replace it, and try again. Make sure holes in the spray arm are clear of debris. Spray arm must be clean for it to spin. If spray arm does spin freely, remove spray arm clip, spray arm and the post assy (the thing the spray arm attaches to). Try your WikiFix again. This time add baking soda to the hole the post assy came from. Top it off with white vinegar. Leave it overnight. In the morning, stick your finger down the hole where the spray arm assy sat. You should feel a plastic thing. This is a propeller attached to the recirculation pump. You need to free it up. Get that thing moving with your pinky or a chopstick or whatever. Try the machine without the spray arm. You should get water blasting up from the hole. Reassemble the spray arm.

We have a dishwasher, model number 8575637, and it doesn't seem to clean anything on the top rack. I have added rinse agent and I just used a product to clean the dishwasher and it still hasn't helped. ...

Hi

White film deposits are observed if water is hard or when you are using more detergent than needed, try filling detergent cup half way. Try using white vinegar after the wash cycle is complete, run a complete cycle. Also turn down the heat on the hot water fed to the dishwasher. Try using water softener for better results.
You can also add vinegar in the final rinse cycle. Make sure that your soap dispenser drawer is opening and closing fine.

Hope this helps... Please post back if more information is required.

The dishes, moeetly the glasses and silverware are cloudy. I don't think its etching. I think it is soap. I can't get it off. I have tried different soaps and rinsed agents and nothing helps. It is...

You can pre-test this by rubbing some vinegar on an individual glass with a cloth. If you cannot remove the cloudiness by soaking it and rubbing vinegar on it then it is possible that the glass is etched due to harsh or cheap dishwasher detergent and vinegar will not solve the problem.
If soaking or cleaning with vinegar works then try adding some to each cycle to see if the clarity of the glasses improves.

Equator PLS600 spray arm will not move.

Problem solved. Removed spray arm assy including nut (attached to body). Manually moved propeller inside water inlet. This freed it up enough to get her working again. Apparent cause was enough debris in chamber to cause it to seize. Note that this fix was preceded by the famous WikiFix of filling chamber with baking soda then topping it off with white vinegar, left overnight. Also note that the above manual movement of the propeller was done with the machine on (not recommended) at the point in the cycle where the spray arm should have been operating.

Hi, We have a new whirlpool dishwasher type no. 575-0. GU2275X TVQO. We have not been able to get clean dishes since purchase. Water is hot, everything seems to be operating smoothly. Use the...

I think I can help. We have the same dishwasher and we have very hard water. The dry powder detergents don't work well. We have found Cascade All in One Gel detergent works best and we use only a little; don't go beyond the first mark in the detergent dispenser, regardless what the instructions say. We have found using more of any detergent makes white film. Don't fill up the pre-wash side either. The Cascade All in One Gel does both at one time, so no need to put some in the pre-wash side. Also keep Jet Dry in the rinse dispenser and make sure it is set up higher, turn the arrow to 4. Try that and move up if needed. Next, we put half a cup of white vinegar in the dishwasher, just pour it in the bottom each time, right before we wash the dishes. This works GREAT! We used the white vinegar in on our former dishwasher of 9 years and never had any trouble with any film buildup. The vinegar cuts all the film and makes glasses look terrific.

If you are still are having trouble, cut out the Heated Dry at then end. The heat can cake hard water on your dishes. It may not dry the dishes as well, but it seems to stop any buildup. Using the vinegar though, we use the Heated Dry and still have no film buildup. So for us, we use a small amount of Cascade All in One Gel detergent (buy this basic gel, no added anything), 1/2 cup white vinegar poured in the bottom and Jet Dry in the rinse dispenser. We always have sparkling clean dishes with no hard water buildup. If you don't have real hard water, but just a little hard water, you might try decreasing the white vinegar to 1/4 cup and increase it if you start seeing the white film build back up. Also don't overload the dishwasher. Make sure there is space in-between each dish and have all plates face toward the center.

Make sure you turn your sink faucet on to as hot as you can get it and run the water until it is hot, then turn off the faucet and turn on the dishwasher. This helps to keep the dishwasher from running longer, which would mean more hard water swishing around longer if you don't heat the water, and you know what that means, plus the heating element has to work harder to get the temp up and that makes it burn out quicker. Once a month check your jet sprays, that turn around in your dishwasher, because the little holes can stop up with hard water gunk and this will cause film on your dishes to build up. Take a toothpick and crush the gunk in any holes and make it go out of the holes. Hope this helps you!

Kenmore dishwasher does not wash completely

I had the same problem. I switched to a gel dishwashing liquid and added about 1/2 cup of white vinegar to each wash cycle. (Just pour the vinegar in a cup, put it in the dishwasher and let the water fill the cup and disperse the vinegar.) Gradually you can reduce the amount of vinegar that you use. Worked for me, hope it does the same for you.

Where does the detergent go?

There is a circle on the door. When you have loaded the dishes, pour the detergent on the door to fill the circle and close the door.
