Did you press a button (or move a slider-switch) on the WIN7 laptop, to "disable" the wireless adapter?
Can you login to the web-server "inside" the wireless router, and look at the "log-files" that the router keeps of "recent" events (such as connection-attempts from wireless devices), to see if there is any useful information in those logs?
Does the WIN7 laptop connect to _any_ wireless network (Starbucks, university, shopping mall), or does it fail ONLY when connecting to your wireless router?
Have you tried a "factory-reset" on your router, just in case that it might be the problem?
Press Fn +F5 key then turn on wifi.
Also make sure wireless switch is turned on.Then check if sitll not connected then uninstall wireless network driver from add remove programs in control panel then reinstall.
Then if you are able to connect wifi then still not access internet then follow below to configure wifi router.
Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link.
http://192.168.1.1 or
http://192.168.0.1 or
http://192.168.15.1
or
http://192.168.2.1
If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it.
Then it ask for user name and password.
Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank.
Then you can see configuration page of router. Then click on WAN setting and set as your internet service provider settings.Click on wireless and enable it if it is disable then save settings and restart router.
Then check.

aha another gateway user. my laptop has a small slider switch that turns the wifi card on and off. look for yours. if you dont have an on n off your is probably on.....you need to know if you have a wireless signal to connect to from the router. if you dont have wifi turned on ( on a router ) you cant connect wirelessly
Are you saying you cannot access your router page like 192.168.0.1 or are you saying your forget your WEP key for wireless?
If you cannot Access your Router page Then a hard reset in order and there should be a black button somewhere on the back you can press and it should reset to system defaults, the password should be admin
If you dont remember your Wep key, go to your Router Page open it up And turn off the Internet security then Turn it back on while changing the password
1. Is the wireless nic on the laptop turned on? Sometimes there is a switch or button on the laptop casing that turns the wireless nic on and off. Also you can sometimes turn the wireless nic on and off via a key combination on the keyboard. If you're sure it's turned on, take it to a wireless hot spot to verify that it is in fact picking up wireless networks in the area.
2. Did you connect to the wireless router using an ethernet cable, log into the routers configuration interface, and verify that the wireless access point is in fact turned on?
If the above does not lead you to a solution please answer the questions in this thread so that we can continue.
If your laptop has a wireless capability you should be able to connect to the wireless network of your router, just view the available wireless network select the wireless name of your router and connected to it if it already say connected try to disconnect the ethernet cable from your laptop and access the internet wirelessly..........
