Hello,
Scroll through your contacts list, when you get to thet number in question, select details > contact name > assign tone > then select your ring tone and assign it to the contact.
For the text messaging, you are on predictive text input, and the upper left of your screen would have an UNDERLINED pen with either 'abc', Abc' or 'ABC'. Toggle your hash key until you get any of the UN-UNDERLINED pen with 'abc', Abc' or 'ABC'.
To disable the dictionary in your text panel, while in create message mode, select 'options', then 'dictionary', then 'dictionary off'. That should turn off your dictionary mode. Alternatively, while in the text mode, at the top left corner of the screen, you would see 'Abc' or 'abc' or 'ABC', with an underline mark. Toggle your hash key (#) till you see an 'Abc', 'ABC', or 'abc' without the underline. Then your dictionary mode would be off.
Welcome to Fixya. The underlining of text when writing happens when the Predictive Text option is Enabled. When in text mode you can use the Hash Key (#) under number 9 Key to change the case of letters or prediction.
I am having the same problem with Droid 2. It is underlining everything I type in an app or text, and I can't make it stop. I know how to lock and unlock caps and alt, but this is not the problem. Already tried removing the battery, but the problem remains. It didn't start doing this until I accidentally pushed several buttons on the bottom left side of the slide out keyboard when I was opening it.
hi there, call the customer service of your service provider ( AT&T,Vodafone,Verizon etc)....they will set up message center number on your phone , the one that you have might be incorrect...your mobile operator will send you sim updates that will refresh the settings ....and then you will get the text message options cheers
If its just the backlight then you can stay in a well lit area and look at the screen that way to change the setting, also you could try plugging it in to keep the backlight on.
