Both of you most likely are getting a "RPS Sensor Fault"
On a GWL10, when the motor rotor position sensor fails, it will act exactly like you describe. Many techs incorrectly replace the machine control or the water inlet valve(s). The RPS sensor is much cheaper. If you consult the tech sheet located under the control panel, you will see the fault code for RPS failure and I would bet the farm that the sequence of LEDs displayed when your washer faults out matches exactly with the RPS fault code.

The RPS sensor for GWL10 and GWL11 models is a part # 420296P and canbe purchased direct from Fisher Paykel Parts:

The procedure to replace it is a little involved but a handy person can do it. It would be best to consult the factory service manual and again, that can be purchased from Fisher Paykel Parts direct here:

Starts and stops

A failed inlet valve is not uncommon in F&P machines. The hot valve is different to the cold one, so don't exchange them. Not a big job for a tech to do in-laundry. Good luck....Nomess

Wont stop filling

If when you press pause while filling and it keeps filling then you have a faulty valve. If the filling stops then valve is ok.
If you filling keeps going until overfilling the machine which is what i understand is your problem, then most likely that you have a small pinhole in your pressure tube.

Washer

If your washer does not stop filling, you have a problem with your inlet water valve at the rear top of the machine. You simply have to replace this.

The out of balance micro-switch is faulty/corroded. This switch is located under the motor control module on the right of the machine and is activated by a plastic lever that goes down beside the outer tub. Replace the micro-switch.
