Amber light remains lit at all times

I have had no problems with my HP hw6915 until now. The amber charging/alert light remains lit at all times as when it is on the docking station in charging mode.

If I call from another phone and hang up the amber light changes to flashing (missed call notification).

Once I have checked the missed call notification the amber light reverts to being permanently on again.

Any suggestions please

Lenovo z570 not powering on

Measure the voltage at the AC Adapter plug, and see if it is within 5-10% of the rated voltage. If the voltage is not correct, then the battery will most likely not be charging, and the system will drain the battery and die in the middle of what it was doing...booting in your case.

You can tell how much voltage is remaining in your battery and if it is charging by checking the blinking of the battery status light.
Download the Hardware Maintenance Manual here:
http://download.lenovo.com/UserFiles/UserGuide/en/User%27s%20guides%20and%20manuals/Z370&Z470&Z570/Lenovo%20Z370Z470Z570%20Hardware%20Maintenance%20Manual%20V1.0.pdf
and go to page 30 and look at item 7 under battery status for blinking light meaning.
1. Blinking amber: (500ms off/1s on)
The remaining power of the battery is less than 5% of
its capacity.
2. Blinking amber: (100ms off/3.2s on)
The battery is being charged with the remaining
power between 5% and 20% of its capacity.
3. Amber: The computer is operating on battery power with the
remaining power between 5% and 20% of its
capacity

With the AC Adapter plugged in, and giving the correct voltage, If you are getting 1. Blinking Amber (light on for 1 sec, off for 1/2 second), then the battery is not being charged. Could be AC Adapter, Battery or Battery Circuit on motherboard. If the light is solid on 3. Amber, then the battery is not charging, and is draining.

Also make sure the power socket on the laptop is not loose or damaged. If it is, then it will need to be replaced.

I hope this gets you in the right direction.

For dish when i use the control for one TV my other TV also changes to the same channel...how do i fix that?

It sounds like you are either in single mode on the receiver or Shared View. Look on the front of the receiver, you should have an amber and green light lite. The amber light should be lit under with 2 boxes. It is probably lit under the single box. Locate the Mode button on the front of the receiver (probably to the right front. Press the Mode button until you see the amber under the 2 boxes or the blue light comes on. When all 3 lights are lit, the receiver is in dual mode.

If you have any other problems, please let us know. Thanks.

Jag X-Type 2.0 V6 Auto (2002). Amber engine icon lit and aircon switches itself on. No loss of power/drives great. Temperature gauge appears all normal. After a while aircon switches itself off again -...

The Amber Engine Icon means the same as a Check Engine Light. Your car's ECM (Computer) has stored a Trouble Code, and you will need a OBD II Reader (On- Board Diagnostic) to get the code so you can diagnose what is wrong with your vehicle. You can go to any AutoZone and they can read the code for you at no charge. You will need to diagnose and fix the problem before the Check Engine Light will turn off.

Does not hold a charge. I have tried charging it for 2 days and when I unplug it and check the battery it says zero charge and shuts off!

if you see the amber light on the charging cradle then your battery no longer holds a charge. if you don't see the amber light then your pda is not charging when in the cradle. most likely it's a battery problem. good luck.

Problem with extended battery

LED indicator for your laptop model
Steady Blue = Battery charged and AC adapter plugged in
Amber = Battery charging and AC adapter plugged in
Slow Amber Flash = <10% battery life
Fast amber flash = 3% remaining TPC will automatically go into hibernate
Slow flashing amber Adapter plugged in = Overheat condition

Do you have a multimeter to test the battery that you are using? check the output current of the battery.

ALERT LED light - Blinking Amber - Nothing prints, printer not recognized

The blinking amber light means there is a hardware problem. Got that from Netgear's website because we have a similar problem here. I don't know if it means hardware problem in the print server or in the printer. We put the print server on a UPS Uninterruptible Power Supply and that problem seems to be gone. We are in an old factory and the wiring is not so reliable. Maybe you could try this same fix.
