For some time I used Uniden cordless phones. I connect through Vonage. However, with each phone I have had a problem with dropped calls. I got a new Vonage router, but that did no good. Is there a way to make these work? I switched to Panasonic, but I don't like their phones and want to return to Uniden.

It can be a broadband problem, it might be the filter on your line that is causing the problem, a hum or strange sounds on the line usell cause a drop in calls but sometimes if the filter has fault it will interfere with calls in other ways.

SOURCE: base not able to connect to handset.

I successfully reset Radio Shack (Uniden) 5561 handset by reconnecting the battery while holding the '*' and '#' key, then press the right upper soft key near the LCD window. The display will indicate "EEPROM/RAM cleared!!" and will return the handset to the factory default condition - looking for a base to register to.

Okay, this solved it for me, so maybe it'll help others.

Basically, you just need to re-register the phones by placing each one on the base unit and leaving it there for at least five seconds after the charge/in use LED light stops flashing.

According to the manual, it's necessary to re-register each phone after a power failure or if the batteries get very low or die. If you're experiencing the "connecting..." problem, this will probably fix it!

SOURCE: uniden 5.8Ghz phone.

You need to reset the main base unit. Unplug the power from the back of the base. While the power is disconnected, press and hold the delete key while reconnecting the power. Wait for a long beep tone. When the display shows 88 or P, press play button one time. If you have a phone without an answering machine, disconnect the power from the back of the base, press and hold find hs button while reconnecting power.

SOURCE: Static on my pair of Uniden cordless phones (Model DECT1560)

Is your base near a computer or other electronics? Also, make sure your microwave is not on. I get static if I do any of those things.

I have a Uniden phone with Cable phone service. Sitting right beside the base set, I get the message that I am too far away. Solutions?

Unfortunately the Unidens have a problem with batteries. Leaving it on the base for a long time without discharging it can lower the lifespan of a battery.

But your problem is that the it lost connections with your service provider. Turn off everything by unplugging the power only from all the devices. Turn on just your cable phone service box first and give it 5 minutes to connect. Then power on the phone. If you still have issues, you need to contact your phone service provider to make sure the box is connection.

I dropped my Uniden phone . Now the phone is ''dead '' , but the base station still works [ light on ] . Can I buy a phone without buyiny a new base ? Thankyou Sally Little

If your Uniden base station is still working, I would recommend just buying another Uniden
cordless phone unit. The new phone will probably have to be registered to the new base by way of
the menu screen on the new phone. If you have any problems, look through your Uniden User's
Guide for help or call Uniden Customer Service at 817-858-2929 or 800-297-1023.
The Uniden website is www.uniden.com

Let me know how this works for you by providing some feedback.
Thanks

Lcd screen is blank also trying to pick up voice mail and can not

Called GE. Here's what's happening (at least with my phone). I use VONAGE as a carrier. VONAGE's package includes voicemail. I have my VONAGE voicemail account set up to take any call that comes in if the answering machine on my GE phone does not pick up -- for instance if I'm on the phone and I do not "flash" over to the incoming call, that caller will eventually be sent to my VONAGE voicemail where they can leave a message. (Otherwise I would either take the call, or, if not already in use, the GE phone/answering system1.gif would simpy take the message.) This GE phone is commucating with my VONAGE account and letting me know that I have a mesage in my VONAGE account voicemail. All I have to do is either go online and delete the messages (after listening to them of course) and refresh the page. Once the messsages are deleted, the carrier lets my phone know the messages are gone and the NEW VOICE MAIL prompt on the handset disappears. I suppose I can do it by listening to the messages by calling in and deleting through the touch pad on the phone as well

I have just installed DECT2015 cordless phone to replace my old wall mounted cord phone a few weeks ago. We have noticed that when we take or make a call on the new phone it causes our DSL internet to...

Make sure the two lines are not connected at some point throughout the home. Also you may try changing the channel on the handset of new phone as this may be causing interferance this DSL service. Channel buttons may be labeled 'Chan' on phone.

How to set the number of rings before the machin answers

Log into your Vonage account and change the number of rings or seconds to intercept for VM. In my Packet8 service, I can set a number of parameters for dual ring, intercept, and/or turn voice mail on and off. The last time I worked on a customer's Vonage we could do the same.

No dial tone on headset 2

If you have a regular phone, then connect it directly to the Vonage phone router. Be sure and connect to the correct port on the router (mine has 2 ports, and I use both, but a single line subscriber would only hook to Line 1).
See if you get a dial tone with the standard phone hooked up (we are testing that the Vonage is good.first, then we'll deal with the Uniden phone.). If not, what do the light's indicate on the Vonage router? Have you subscribed to Vonage? Do you have a cable between your router and the Vonage router?

Reply back back what you find and I can help you more.

  • From your Vonage account, there is a feature called the bandwidth saver. This feature controls the amount of bandwidth used for a phone call. Try adjusting the bandwidth saver to either medium or normal. After you adjust your settings, test and see if there is a difference in the audio quality.
